What you’ll be doing...

Risk Management and Compliance is responsible for the identification and mitigation of risk in the Consumer organization. Our job is to oversee and take action on policies, processes, people, and systems that represent financial, regulatory, system, network, operational, or reputational risks to Verizon. As our Senior Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team that ensures risk in the Verizon Consumer Group Network space is identified and mitigated.

Specific focus and attention areas include those that represent to VCG related to Network, collaborating with partners in Global Network and Technology, CISO, Corporate Security and across the business on threats and incidents, vetting and improving processes that help improve our overall network risk posture, and balancing these with customer and employee experience.

You will provide expertise and leadership in driving the automation of controls to improve financial performance and transactional accuracy; the repair of controls that are not functioning as intended; and the enhancement of the control environment, where necessary to address current and developing risks. Collaborate with the core business partners and other security teams to improve controls via creative process design which meet the evolving business needs for customer experience and efficiency. Manage aspects of risk inherent in the Verizon Consumer Group organization and make decisions concerning the scope of work to be performed based on the prioritization of those risks.

  • Lead a team of professionals to manage aspects of risk inherent in the Verizon Consumer Group and Network (Global Technology) organizations and make decisions concerning the scope of work to be performed based on the prioritization of those risks.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert with respect to risks inherent in this space, including network analysis, network privacy, access, security, financial risks, and more.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key internal stakeholders, including all RM&C teams, Privacy, Legal, Information Security, Technology, Customer Experience, and all the units in the Consumer organization.
  • Aggregate and communicate timely and accurate information regarding issues and associated remediation actions to Directors, VPs, and SVPs.
  • Provide knowledge based leadership in driving the automation of manual and system controls to improve financial performance and transactional accuracy; the repair of controls that are not functioning as intended; and the enhancement of the control environment, where necessary to address current and developing risks.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.

Even better if you have:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration and/or professional certification (CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, PMP, CISSP).
  • Experience with Network Compliance, Operational Compliance, Business Controls, Corporate or Information Security, Finance or Audit.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience performing risk assessments or analysis of Tier I Networks or Systems, Third-Party systems, or internal/external Data Lifecycle management.
  • Experience leveraging risk principles and methods to evaluate policies, processes and systems to identify business risks and control gaps.
  • Experience in systematic identification of Risk, specifically focused on Network risk, transport of information, and internal systems related to Networks.
  • Experience driving complex solutions and analytics to provide ongoing and automated monitoring of key risks.
  • Experience formulating, affecting, interpreting and implementing policies and processes to ensure a strong control environment.
  • Experience in Telecommunications industry and technologies, specifically Network Technologies and Systems including Call Detail Records, Network Flow Records, IP Analysis tools, and transport / transmission protocols and flows.
  • Experience leading a large team of professionals.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to explain confidential and complex issues and make recommendations to leadership.
  • Ability to handle multiple high priority projects and stakeholders' expectations concurrently.
