What you’ll be doing...

The Verizon Response Team (VRT) communications lead will administer the VRT customer communications efforts during major event and network outage active responses. The VRT communications lead develops and implements strategic communications plans for customer engagement in Public Sector, Global Enterprise, and Business Markets. The VRT communications lead will coordinate with Government Affairs, PR, legal, and the sales teams to ensure effective and proactive communications during major events, network outages, and proactive engagements.

The VRT communications lead will develop a framework of needs by customer type (depth of information, frequency, etc.) to effectively weaponize communication related to public safety events and other significant Verizon events to gain exposure through information placement and customer outreach. The communications lead will operate as communications subject matter experts within the Verizon Business Group and is responsible for maintaining communication consistency with customers and sales teams.

This position can sit in other valid Verizon locations.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Five or more years in public safety, emergency management, communications, media, and/or public sector experience.
  • Excellent written, organizational, and verbal communication.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Even better if you have:

  • A Degree.
  • Emergency management work experience.
  • Experience supporting Public Safety agencies and/or public sector.
  • Experience establishing measurement and feedback systems.
  • Experience presenting ideas and complex information effectively to individuals or groups with short time frames for preparation.
