What you’ll be doing...

As a Product Manager/Owner, your goal is to help reshape our product portfolio for small/medium-sized businesses. You’ll conduct research, understand the customer's needs, define product and customer requirements, build financial models and business cases based on opportunity size, a robust roadmap and deliver successful new products.

  • Deliver new products that meet/exceed the needs of small businesses and help the SMB product organization achieve associated targets. Products may include but not be limited to: high speed internet, voice, security, technical support and other value-added services.

  • Deliver a clear strategic vision and roadmap.

  • Have multiple horizons as a Product leader to win now, but also have the right approach to win tomorrow and in the future.

  • Perform an objective financial analysis of a potential market opportunity to provide a basis for investment.

  • Articulate what you learned from research to inform a recommendation and quantify the risk, including a financial model.

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to determine how well the product is performing in the market, how it impacts the company operations, and ultimately, how it contributes to profit.

  • Determine which channels best align with the markets' buying preferences.

  • Map needs with target markets and analyze the market segments to actively pursue.

  • Ensure that the targeted segments are large enough to support the current and future business of the product.

  • Describe the product by its ability to solve market problems.

  • Create internal positioning documents that will be used to develop external messages focused on each key buyer or persona.

  • Research and document the buying process that the target personas use to select a product.

  • Understand the barriers that buyers encounter during their selection process.

  • Articulate and prioritize personas and their problems so that the appropriate products can be built.

  • Illustrate market problems in a "story" that puts the problem in context. User stories are one component of requirements.

  • Manage proactive communications with relevant stakeholders from strategy through execution.

  • Identify competitive and alternative offerings in the market.

  • Assess their strengths and weaknesses.

  • Develop a strategy for winning against the competition.
