What you’ll be doing...

As a Solution Development Manager, your goal is to help reshape our product portfolio for small, medium, and mid-sized businesses. You will conduct research, understand customer needs, and define customer and product requirements. And you will build financial models, business cases based on opportunity size, and a robust roadmap. Finally you will deliver successful new products and “segment fit” existing products.

  • Deliver new products and “segment fit” existing products that meet/exceed the needs of small, medium, and mid-sized businesses and help the SMB product organization achieve associated targets.
  • Perform an objective financial analysis of a potential market opportunity to provide a basis for investment. Articulate what you learned from research to inform a recommendation and quantify the risk, including a financial model.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to determine how well the product is performing in the market, how it impacts the company operations, and ultimately, how it contributes to profit.
  • Determine which channels best align with the markets' buying preferences.
  • Ensure that the targeted segments are large enough to support the current and future business of the product.
  • Create internal positioning documents that will be used to develop external messages focused on each key buyer or persona.
  • Research and document the buying process that the target personas use to select a product.
  • Articulate and prioritize personas and their problems so that the appropriate products can be built.
  • Illustrate market problems in a "story" that puts the problem in context. User stories are one component of requirements.
  • Manage proactive communications with relevant stakeholders from strategy through execution.
  • Identify competitive and alternative offerings in the market. Assess their strengths and weaknesses. Develop a strategy for winning against the competition.
