The Advanced Solutions Team within Verizon Business Group is focused on solutions that fuel and feed the growth and digital transformation to help our customers meet their most challenging business goals. With solutions to include CX, digital workplace, advanced communications and cyber security, we are well positioned to be a trusted partner to the world’s largest organizations.

Verizon is now building a team of professionals with industry vertical expertise in the Financial Services industry to serve as Innovation Principals. This team will drive new relationships and manage the overall strategy and direction for a global/strategic “domain” within key enterprise clients of Verizon Business Group. The ideal candidate has sat on the "customer side" of the table in the financial services industry to truly understand the needs and challenges our customers face everyday.

· The Financial Services Innovation Advisor provides guidance and thought leadership to the client and internal VBG team(s) on how to solve business problems through integrated Verizon solutions (Customer Experience, Digital Workplace, Security, IoT, Network solutions) .

· This role directly works with the core account management teams to guide and execute funnel opportunities in the existing, run-rate business as well as strategic advanced solutions.

· The Financial Services Innovation Advisor will operate in a matrix structure and lead a team of deal experts, solution architects and will work alongside core sales, adoption specialists and customer service consultants. Those resources could be dedicated or shared across multiple accounts.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the Financial Services industry.
  • Willingness to travel
  • Valid Driver's license

Even better if you have:

  • Proven ability to orchestrate large, complex technical solutions
  • 3 years of experience selling CX, Advanced Communications and/or Cyber Security
  • Proven ability to network and open doors to C-suite level executives and proven experience converting white space/green field opportunities
  • Proven ability to align the value proposition to each key stakeholder's objectives (customizing material, articulating benefits, demonstrating RoI etc.)
  • Proven experience converting white space/green field opportunities OR experience managing pipeline of ideas for customer impact
  • Ability to proactively engage with teams to discuss and address issues with customer or team dynamics, offerings, etc. as a routine learning item
  • Experience using a tracking system for follow-ups and next steps with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to navigate the customer organization and make design recommendations based on deep understanding of client culture and ability to implement
  • Ability to bring provocative and insightful thinking, and access to the company’s global network and portfolio to inspire and broaden/deepen client relationships
  • Ability to identify disruptive opportunities in an account on a 1-3 year scale
  • Experience leveraging market intelligence to perform competitor/ecosystem analysis
  • Ability to coach account resources on industry topics
  • Experience in financial modelling and projections
  • Client centric orientation (design thinking, JTBD theory, etc.)
  • Experience in developing customer personas
  • Active participation/Leadership in Seller Networks
  • Active participation/Leadership in Industry Affiliation Groups
  • A rolodex of cross-industry contacts either from school networks, work networks, or other
