What you’ll be doing...

The credit manager position is accountable for the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses.

Your position will involve analyzing, evaluating and reporting on the company’s consumer credit activities. You will assist with the development and continued enhancement of company-wide and product-specific risk assessments, credit policies and procedures. You will perform ongoing monitoring of credit practices to ensure products are in full compliance with applicable credit policies.

  • Demonstrates a basic knowledge of financial, accounting and additional support systems.

  • Identifies any improvement opportunities in this area and to contribute to the design and implementation of new strategies, processes or procedures as a result of identifying improvement opportunities.

  • Creates, analyzes and interprets reports for managers providing recommendations to guide business decisions.

  • Ensures compliance with internal policies and controls, and with external regulations.

  • Undertakes complex projects and provides guidance on project related issues as needed.

  • Fields issue escalations from internal customers or delivery partners and responds to customer inquiries as requested, ensuring issue and error resolution.

  • Identifies improvement opportunities for their work stream and works closely with either the internal team or service providers (if any) to enable the implementation of improvement opportunities.

  • Assists in assessing the services delivered by the service providers (if any) and validating that performance metrics established by service level agreements are met as applicable.

  • Manages, evaluates and maintains credit policies for consumer credit worthiness.

  • Leverages and collaborates with appropriate Compliance personnel, legal resources and other disciplines in the evaluation of the same.

  • Evaluates and monitors scoring models to ensure that they are empirically derived, statistically sound including credit scorecard validation and redevelopment.

  • Performs Consumer/Business Credit Screening Strategy Development and Analysis.

  • Supports Synergies in Credit Screening, Fraud Prevention and Strategic Vendor Relationships.

  • Performs Business Intelligence and Data Analysis, Descriptive Statistics and Performance Validation of existing and potential Credit Strategies.

  • Supports empirically derived predictive model development and life cycle.

  • Handles ad-hoc reporting, tracking and trending, and predictive measures using commonly used statistical measures.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel; strong written and oral communications skills.

  • Four or more years of consumer credit experience.

  • Excellent ability to analyze data and interpret credit performance metrics.

  • Knowledge of statistical credit modeling methodologies.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills in a dynamic changing environment.

  • Advanced Query Skills (SQL).

  • Experience in statistical modeling using R or other related tools.

  • Experience with one of SAS/R/Python and experience to programing in SQL, VBA, SPSS, MATLAB, JAVA, Tableau or other related tools.

  • Experience working in a Hadoop environment and using tools such as Spark or H2O.

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, analytical and decision-making skills.
