You will be designing, implementing and managing the deliverables for our customer networks (WAN, LAN, data center, IPT, etc.) and creating documentation for the implementation of the customer's network. As a senior team member, you will also support and coach other engineers in the team at a technical level to provide professional engineering support to enable VzB’s organization to provide high quality services/solutions to our customers.
- Investigating, designing, planning, and implementing communications networks.
- Partnering with customer teams to develop solutions that support their requirements.
- Preparing network schematics to define and illustrate network design solutions.
- Creating hardware and software configuration upgrades.
- Providing IP addressing and routing strategies.
- Preparing detailed work orders for technicians.
What we’re looking for...
As a Senior Engineer, your technical skills are top notch, and you are known for pro-actively driving the development of the engineering role together with the other Design Engineers, Implementation Engineers and digging into the details to find the best solutions. You know how to get to the bottom of your customers’ needs, and how to manage your stakeholders’ expectations. Talking to people comes very naturally to you and you have an ability to communicate complex information in a way that people understand.
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
- Experience in designing and implementing large scale customer networks.
- Fluency in English.
Even better if you have:
- A degree in IT and experience in a large complex customer environment.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or relevant experience.
- Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification.
- Experience with Cisco hardware (routers, switches), WAAS, Juniper routing and internal wireless products.
- Project management experience.
- Experience with contemporary technologies including MPLS, TCP/IP, IPSec, BGP, QoS, IP Telephony, Multicast, and/or other similar tools.
- Software Defined Networking (SDN) knowledge and Virtualization Technologies.
- Any network automation and scripting experience.
- Experience with OpenStack administration, Linux and scripting.
- Knowledge of ITIL.
