What you’ll be doing...
You will join the Worldwide EHS Team with EHS responsibility primarily for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Poland, The Czech Republic and other select EMEA countries.
- Keep abreast of changes to environment, health and safety (EHS) regulations and guidance that impact the business and work with internal clients to ensure compliance.
- Prepare EHS programs and audit compliance of internal programs with local regulations.
- Execute site inspections and risk assessments.
- Undertake incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Serve as the primary EHS contact (both internally and externally) across all countries of responsibility.
- Work closely with various internal work groups including legal, human resources, network and infrastructure engineering, technical operations, real estate, safety committees and the works councils.
- Undertake health and safety functions to support the Worldwide Environment Health & Safety Team initiatives to ensure consistency in the direction and application of EHS policies and programs.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Science or Management, Engineering, or other relevant qualifications and work experience.
- Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit certificate if base qualification is not in health and safety
- Fluency in English (written and verbal).
- Willingness to travel within the UK or Europe on short term assignments.
Even better if you have:
- Experience working for a large or multi-national organization and dealing with all levels of an organization.
- Familiarity with current laws, standards, practices, and procedures within the EHS field.
- A consultative and confident communicator.
- Highly motivated and readiness to use initiative and problem solve.
- Ability to objectively investigate complex issues and come up with practical workable solutions.
- Experience in ergonomic and general risk assessment processes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at the same time and a willingness to reprioritize workload depending on business demands.
- Preparedness to assist and participate in EHS team projects across the EMEA footprint.
- Good research skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team to ensure consistent approach to EHS practices and also autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Fluency in German.
- Working knowledge of MS Office programs and Google suite.
