What you’ll be doing...

Verizon’s Professional Services team develops and delivers custom technology solutions to the global market by creating a digital strategy to modernize their network. We offer an array of services across a wide spectrum of technologies at various stages of the development cycle and give technical expertise, oversight, and guidance for businesses to meet their technology needs of today and tomorrow.

This entry level role, which is part of the overall Verizon Campus Program, will give you a chance to channel your drive and enthusiasm and learn the practical application of your degree concepts. You will be front and center, hands-on and contributing your creative energy to high-impact projects from the moment you arrive. You will put your degree to use and gain experience in the field through on the job training.

As an Edge Application Service Intern, you may have the opportunity to:

  • Work with multiple architecture and development teams to design scalable architecture solutions for on-boarding partner applications and services.
  • Create high level application design documentation that helps platform architects and developers build the systems required by partners.
  • Build and maintain partner roadmaps to manage their architecture solutions after implementation, working with them and our product teams to align their feature capability needs.
  • Assist with presales activities such as preparing technical information for partners and customers, or helping with presentations.
  • Participate in networking activities with other interns, professionals and business leaders.

You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.

You’ll need to have:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program with a concentration in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related major with an expected completion date between December 2021 to June 2022.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
  • Willingness to work in Ashburn, VA.

Even better if you have:

  • Demonstrated strong analytic, communication, leadership and presentation skills.
  • Previous internship experience in a technology related field.
  • Experience with the internet of things communications protocols.
  • Experience with cloud based environments.
  • Experience with one or more of the following disciplines or skills: Python, Java, C, C++, C#, HTML, JavaScript, UI development, SAS, R, Hadoop, Android or iOS programming, Java Perl, AWS, Eclipse, SQL, NoSQL, MATLAB, Node.js, Oracle, Linux or Windows, .NET MVC, OBDII, Security Administration, OP Telephony and SIP, messaging services like Kafka, ActiveMQ or RabbitMQ, integration methodologies and tools such as SOAP and REST, understanding of object-oriented design principles, or configuration management tools.
