What you’ll be doing...

Our Operations team is responsible for everything from hardware to operating system to automation to network traffic engineering. There are no limits or barriers. Everyone pitches in to run world-class infrastructure that delivers the BlueJeans video communications platform globally.

This role is responsible for systems architecture, support and security, along with deploying systems and supporting peer developers. Our ideal candidate is a confident self-starter, loves identifying and solving problems, communicates well, and is passionate about cloud services, technology and the web.

  • On-call rotates.
  • Ops works closely with the dev team and product management, very closely, so you must play nice with others.
  • Everyone juggles long-term projects with real-time monitoring and triage. How? Communicatio so excellent communication is needed all the time

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong Linux administration including scripting.
  • Experience using Amazon EC2 and virtualization with Vmware or Docker containers.
  • One or more years experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters.

Even better if you have:

  • Automation & Orchestration! We use Consul, Terraform, Chef, NewRelic, Sumo as well as our own tools.
  • MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra or other database expertise (you name it, we probably use it).
  • Experience working in an Agile software delivery environment.
  • Experience with cloud based architecture building blocks such as message queuing, in memory caches, nginx etc.
  • Experience with functional or imperative programming languages -- e.g., Python, Ruby, Go, C, or Java.
  • Knowledge of H.323, SIP and any other buzzworthy technology in video / voice conferencing.
  • Previous experience mentoring and/or leading a team.
  • A strong dedication to code quality, automation and operational excellence.
