What you’ll be doing...

This internship position – which is part of the Verizon Campus Program – will give you a chance to channel your drive and enthusiasm while learning from the best minds in the industry. You’ll be front and center, hands-on, and contributing your creative energy to high-impact projects from the moment you arrive through the course of this 10-week experience. You will take part in meaningful work and real-life projects within the Global Technology Solutions Organization that will help you grow both professionally and personally throughout the program.

As a Maintenance Engineering Intern, you may have the opportunity to:

· Participate in the implementation of the Mobile Edge Compute (MEC) build at our Mobile Switching Centers (MSCs).

· Work directly with the Cloud Service Providers as a liaison back to the business to fulfill all install requirements for their infrastructure.

· Track and report respective task status to completion. Travel to sites for audits and site walks with the vendor to track and report respective task status to completion.

· Participate in Multi-Access Edge Compute (MEC) and Verizon Cloud Platform (VCP) Infrastructure planning.

· Review drawings, pictures, and data inventory of Space, Power, and Cooling Inventory.

· Suggest creative ideas and options concerning equipment options and creating future planning floor plan drawings.

· Support Infrastructure planning experts and engineers in estimating make-ready build costs and scope.

· Assist in the development and implementation of best practices for the deployment of MEC within the Verizon network.

· Focus on new and retrofit design elements, efficiency opportunities, and cost savings.

You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and in good academic standing to be considered.

You’ll need to have:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Information Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Machine Learning, or related major with an expected completion date between December 2021 and June 2024.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
  • Willingness to work in Bedminster, NJ.
  • Strong analytical skills, communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and machine learning, automation, MEC, cloud services, and project management.
