What you’ll be doing...

Today’s network – part traditional, part virtual and always critical – must be more dynamic than ever. Our infrastructure, which spans six continents and thousands of route miles, provides the right platform for digital transformation.

As a team member in one of the globally recognized telecommunications companies, you will be part of the core of Verizon’s foundation. Additionally you will have the opportunity to get exposure to the latest telecom devices, telco equipment, and cutting-edge technology such as SDN (Software Defined Networking).

  • Retrieving necessary information from multiple system of provisioning.
  • Installing routers, modems in most of service orders. At times, may need to install non-standard CPE (ex. accelerator, proxy).
  • Running circuit tests, such as low and high speed of Ethernet.
  • Installing non-Verizon circuit related service, and Wi-Fi access point with designing, telepresence.
  • Providing technical support for (internal and external) customer as per their request regarding racks in datacenter for colocation.
  • Acting with a sense of urgency to fix problems in network.
  • Maintaining Verizon network 24x7; may require on-call rotation (outside of business hours).
  • Travelling locally may be required depending on the customer issues.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor'sdegree or one or more year’s of work experience.
  • Oneor more years related working experience in Telecom industry.
  • Experience in installing and setting up Cisco equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic telecom and able to build physical connection tree with appropriate materials.
  • Knowledge of the basic Ethernet world (IP address, MAC address, CAT5,6 cable, Fiber)
  • Fluency in Japanese and English (written and verbal).
  • Willingness to travel locally.

Even better if you have:

  • Network related certifications e.g. CCNA/CCNP.
  • Ability to embrace ethics, integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage the expectations of stakeholders.
  • Willingness to learn new technology (Cloud, SDN, IoT, Security).
  • Able to communicate with customer (mails, phone calls, face to face) professionally as representing Verizon.
  • Able to work with coworkers sufficiently in team work, not stand alone player. The team would be sales, customer support, telecom carriers, vendors, etc.
