What you’ll be doing...

As a member of the VBG Product Portfolio Governance team, you will be part of building a sustainable product delivery process by managing, refining, and implementing process streamlining. You will drive efficiencies and compliance across the product organization through implementation and ensuring stakeholder engagement across Verizon so that our products are delivered to meet business strategic and revenue goals.

  • Champion process adoption and adherence, as well as systems/tools, by being an promoter across the product towers and their leaders.
  • Function as an Agile coach and strategist, ensuring the stakeholder teams and their leaders know how to use processes and systems to develop products efficiently.
  • Develop an understanding of existing processes, systems and offerings, and be the recognized SME to other business and technical teams.
  • Support cross-functional business process re-engineering teams and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Develop and deliver regular training on the process to business product stakeholders.
  • Collaborate within and outside the team to ensure alignment of systems and integration of data exchanges.
  • Ensure project objectives are met by monitoring and measuring project progress regularly to determine variances from the project plan, identify risks, assess/analyze, and report in a timely and consistent manner to the leadership teams.
  • Develop regular reporting and presentations on progress, timelines, outcomes for the executive leadership team.
  • Research and report on high priority, time sensitive issues that require a high degree of accuracy delivered in a professional manner to multiple levels of management.
  • Review new products/projects/enhancements and quickly identify potential opportunities and concerns and follow up on technical, detailed information to help alignment within and outside the team.
  • Ensure proper engagement, communication, and hand-off to the PMO organization for successful project implementation after prioritization determination.
  • Contribute and participate in special projects and other initiatives.

What we’re looking for...

You are a self-starter with a can-do attitude who loves to collaborate and work with multiple teams for the common goal of launching profitable products that our customers want/need. You are relentless in ensuring that work is completed and look for ways to integrate existing processes with new ones as the organization continues to evolve. You have the mindset of continuously evaluating for process improvement and are not afraid to ask questions.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Solid Process Management experience in agile execution

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree such as an MBA.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving abilities and decision-making skills.
  • Agile Practitioner Certification (PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist, ICP-ACC, etc.)
  • Six or more years of proven track record in process creation, streamlining and gap analysis.
  • Three or more years of experience in change initiatives and change management.
  • Transformation mindset with the ability to manage challenging situations and recommend effective solutions to drive adoption of new programs and processes.
  • Hands-on, “roll up your sleeves” mindset, with the demonstrated ability to be a driver and change agent in an organization.
  • Knowledge of corporate business strategy, wireline/wireless technology, and market/industry trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly resolve complex problems and identify, develop and quantify any required corrective action to keep program schedules on track.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate knowledge and expertise to provide insight and direction to the business.
  • Working knowledge of Clarity, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Proven track record of success in driving changes and leading system improvement efforts.
  • Strong Program Management skills, excellent organization skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Product Development/Management experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office.
