What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is looking for a Product Manager to help manage and build its Grid Wide Intelligent Lighting IoT product solution for municipal and electric utility street light controls.

The IoT Product Manager will manage the Verizon Grid Wide Intelligent Lighting technology roadmap, and business plan as part of the overall Verizon Grid Wide solutions portfolio.

  • The Product Manager will be responsible for managing the Verizon Intelligent Lighting product within the Verizon Grid Wide Utility Solutions Platform supporting the Verizon business units. This responsibility will include strategy and end-to-end product lifecycle management that includes Hardware, Value Added Services & Partnerships in support of the Grid Wide Smart Lighting Platform.
  • Manage a portfolio developing innovative solutions and managing product life cycles end-to-end, including market opportunity assessment, competitive analysis, product strategy, business case, capability roadmap, customer experience, operational excellence, and sales enablement & support.
  • Align across partner products to produce value added IoT solutions in 5G, Security & Managed Services.
  • Interfacing with Verizon sales, engineering, operations and account teams to coordinate key customer delivery activities.
  • Develop execution plan of approved strategy projects for our utility vertical focused on leveraging our Private 5G/LTE, Public-Private MEC & Developer Ecosystems (APIs & Digital).
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships & new channel opportunities.
  • Define and drive the strategic direction and competitive positioning of the products across our business sales channels and utility customers.
  • Prioritize initiatives and allocate investment of capital and expenses to maximize impact.
  • Drive product development initiatives to launch on-time and within budget.
  • Establish and execute go-to-market plans and drive post-launch activity to ensure revenue forecasts are achieved.
  • Grow solutions revenue and profitability to positively impact shareholder value.
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics on monthly basis and forecast product revenues.
  • Ensure winning customer value propositions and exceptional customer experiences end-to-end.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Deep understanding of the competitive marketplace for cloud service providers.
  • Experience deploying products in solutions in cloud environments servicing the utility industry.
  • Understanding of device clients, platform capabilities and APIs.
  • Proven track record of launching business products/capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to drive, lead and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong strategic perspective and customer focus.
  • Experience managing across multiple technology partners.
  • Knowledge of utility vertical drivers, opportunity, and trends [e.g. – Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS), Distributed Energy Resources, etc.].
  • Understanding of and relationships with leading OEM’s, VAR’s, and systems integrators within the utility industry.
  • Experience integrating with utility vertical system integrators.
  • Experience with AI and its application to utility best practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Outstanding financial acumen, with a balanced blend of business and technical savvy.
  • Excellent communication and presentations skills with demonstrated experience communicating to senior leadership stakeholders.
  • B.S. with advanced degree preferred, or equivalent industry experience – a combination of engineering/technical and MBA education highly desired.
  • Seven or more years of product management experience delivering to Enterprise and/or Utility clients.
