What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is investing in its network to improve the way we live, work, and communicate. Our network transformation will be critical for all our future connectivity businesses including new products such as IoT, 4G, 5G, and future smart cities. As part of this network transformation, you will help build one network engineered for growth for all lines of business.

You will manage all aspects of implementation of fiber optic cable in the Houston UACE. Tasks include but are not limited to, preparing overall delivery schedule and timeline, escalating issues internally and externally to meet deliverables, managing project budget internally and with vendors, reporting status of deliverables.

  • Drive complex projects and programs to achieve targeted and measured business goals and key objectives.

  • Coordinate and schedule resources across multiple organizations to align project requirements with business goals and objectives.

  • Identify, monitor, report and escalate project-related issues to achieve timely resolution.

  • Develop and implement corrective action plans to mitigate impact to project schedules and overall business objectives.

  • Utilize project tracking tools and systems to accurately document milestones completions, project issues, corrective action plans, project jeopardies, and overall project completions.

  • Maintain excellent communication with Functional Team Members and Direct Management to ensure early identification of issues a timely reporting of status.

  • Developing and implementing fiber builds for 4G & 5G Programs.

  • Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills and ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization. Leads and develops teams of direct/indirect reports.

  • Planning on excel and using data to generate reports.

  • Execute tasks and derive complete information from the database.

  • Interface with external vendors and clients, building relationships and assuring a strong customer focus.

  • Work with multi-discipline engineering team and interact with other intercompany departments.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Engineering, Planning, and/or Operations knowledge, especially with Transport, Wireless, Local and Long-Haul Telecommunications Networks.
  • Strong technical and project management knowledge.
  • Experience leading and managing network projects.
  • PMP certification.
  • Strong communication, written, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and team building capabilities.
  • Experience with full suite of Microsoft Office.
