We are investing in our network to improve the way we live, work, and communicate. Our one fiber build will be critical in laying the foundation for all future connectivity supporting a best-in-class 5G network and the Internet of Things (IoT) to impact a wide variety of industries such as healthcare, education, manufacturing, public safety, government, and many others. We are in the midst of historic breakthroughs in connectivity and mobility to blend the physical and the digital through cutting-edge technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, nanotechnologies, 3D printing, wearables, and advanced robotics. As part of this team, you will play a critical role in building a fiber network that supports all lines of business with reliability that keeps millions of our customers connected.

Our ability to deliver projects on-time and on-budget is critical to driving innovation for our customers. You’ll be responsible for supporting the Pacific Market One Fiber Engineering teams by partnering with the markets to manage data, processes and tools used by the teams.

  • Building and maintaining excellent communication and relationships with several cross-functional teams.

  • Collaborating with teams for the purpose of feedback on process and tool functionality.

  • Collaborating with the tools team to understand upcoming enhancements, fixes and future development.

  • Develop and distribute reporting and presentations.

  • Researching and reporting on high priority, time sensitive issues that require a high degree of accuracy delivered in a professional manner to multiple levels of management.

  • Reporting and summarizing project information into easy to understand communications that keeps everyone in the loop and on track.

  • Demonstrating initiative, anticipating and preparing for upcoming situations, and acting quickly to address issues before they become problems.

  • Driving process improvements, adopting best practices, and documenting procedures for the project team to improve team performance.

What we’re looking for...

You’re a self-motivated individual to reach across lines of business to collect ideas, and issues to then take the data to improve tools and processes. You’re proactive, driven, creative and persistent in solving problems, and you approach every situation with a can-do, team-player attitude. You take ownership of issues and their successful resolution. Your superior time management, prioritization, and planning skills help you thrive in a dynamic work environment with laser-sharp focus on deliverables and timelines.

You’ll need to have:

  • Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.

  • Three or more years or relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Firm understanding of all OSP network design (5G, 4G, ODN, core).

  • Proficient understanding of contracts at high level.

  • Ability to conduct detailed quality field inspections.

  • Ability to review and order from a Bill Of Materials.

  • Ability to understand and generate basic splicing schematics.

  • Ability to comprehend & process splice test results.

  • Ability to comprehend vendor cost analysis.

  • Ability to review and process vendor invoices.

  • Ability to meet with municipalities to discuss network design.

  • Ability to respond to customer complaints.

  • Ability to work on existing network projects.

  • Ability to review COPs.

  • Ability to quickly resolve complex problems and identify, develop and quantify any required corrective action to keep program schedules on track.

  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines as you manage multiple work assignments with competing priorities.

  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate knowledge and expertise to provide insight and direction to the business.

  • Knowledge and expertise with operating systems and applications including: Windows, MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, VISIO, Microsoft Project,G-suite.

  • Ability to manage challenging situations and recommend effective solutions to drive adoption of new programs and processes.

  • Effective leadership, and communications skills.

  • Experience with Verizon tools such as CoFEE, DDT, 3GIS.

  • Experience identifying, monitoring, reporting and escalating project-related issues to achieve timely resolution.
