What you’ll be doing...
The PMTS - Verizon Cloud Platforms (VCP) Engineer Kubernetes/Openshift - will envision, architect, plan, document, and support technology across the network organization ecosystem. This position will focus on two major areas, engineering solutions for the Verizon Cloud Platforms utilizing kubernetes (openshift) and automationing deployment/maintenance of the platform. The engineering solutions portion of the position will work with Planning, Lab, and Operations teams to implement new designs, capacity, functionality, remediations and support of the platform.
- Assisting to triage platform issues, document, coordinate, and support escalations.
- Work with Planning, Lab, and Operations teams to implement new (remediate old) automation in support of the engineered solutions.
- Assisting to triage platform issues, document, coordinate, and support escalations associated with the automation.
- Advise on troubleshooting and the triage of problem reports, resolutions, and escalations as required.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Willingness to travel.
- Experience with Kubernetes/ Redhat Openshift Engineering/Administration.
- Experience with with Redhat Openshift deployment.
- Experience with Kubernetes Service Mesh (ITSIO or equivalent).
- Experience with Redhat Linux.
- Experience with Ansible automation development /maintenance / debugging.
- Experience with Unix Shell Scripting (Bash).
- Experience with GITLAB CI/CD pipelines - as developer.
- Experience with Development using modern file formats (JSON / YAML).
Even better if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related discipline.
- Experience working with KVM, libvirt, kubevirt or other virtualization technology
- Experienced Linux systems administration (prefer in Virtualized/Container environment).
- System performance analysis in a containerized environment.
- Development experience with Python.
- Knowledge of IP networking, VPN's, DNS, load balancing and firewalls.
- Experience working with solutions at scale.
- Experience as support technician.
- Experience working modern configuration management tools (Ansible).
- Experience with storage solutions (netapp, nfs, trident).
- Experience with networking concepts and protocols (include SDN, NFV).
- Willingness to enhance team learning environment by providing and encouraging mentorship and technical leadership.

If you are hired into a Colorado work location, the compensation range for this position is between $97,600 and $181,200 based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
