What you’ll be doing...
The Network Security Transport Policy Engineering team is seeking a Principal Security Engineer to specialize in managing the infrastructure responsible for supporting MTIPS. The Principal Security engineer will lead efforts to analyze network security designs, engineer technical solutions, develop deployment strategies, and update technical documentation for the MTIPs network. The Principal Security Engineer will responsible for participating in design discussions with Network Planning and Design teams to engineer new designs and build Fortinet FW systems.
The ideal candidate will participate and lead efforts to create new infrastructure designs based on current business needs, capacity increases, and customer growth. They will also manage, maintain, and configure security network hardware (ex. Firewalls, VPN devices, logging systems, security provisioning systems) when necessary. Provide higher tier technical support to the Operations, Engineering, Security Implementation, and Maintenance Engineering teams on all security-related network issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading and participating in technical sessions and to coordinate technical, implementation and/or troubleshooting discussions
- Must be available for occasional overnight work as required for high profile changing and supporting implementation teams
- Must have a strong understanding of structured network design and deployment, as well as strong project management skills, strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and oral), and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must have hands-on working experience with Fortinet
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience..
- Ability to pass a Public Trust Security Clearance.
Even better if you have:
- Security and/or network-specific certifications
- Fortinet FortiGate (5.2 or later)
- Fortinet FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer
- TCPdump and/or WireShark
