What you’ll be doing...

You’ll be working with internal AP teams and external Verizon employees to resolve Accounts Payable issues and you will represent AP on large cross-team projects. You will be the primary AP point of contact on M&A and project calls and communications. Your leadership and coordination skills will be used to organize many AP tasks with assignments to the defined AP resources from each AP team. You will utilize project management tools to ensure deliverables are completed on time across the AP organization and your communication skills will be used to escalate when necessary.

  • Coordinating Accounts Payable (AP) systems, projects, defects, enhancements, and upgrades.
  • Acting as an overall AP SME (Subject Matter Expert) and a SPOC (Single Point of Contact) for AP processes.
  • Managing and acting as an AP Test Champion on numerous projects and testing cycles.
  • Resolving escalations and issues related to Accounts Payable systems and processes.
  • Managing AP enhancements, including requirements gathering, logging CRs with the AP-CSG team, test plan organization, and coordination with IT.
  • Managing external integrator resources for defect resolutions identified during project test cycles.
  • Leading and managing AP processes and initiatives that can be streamlined with automation.
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable management/staff and other departments in support of time-bound processes and projects.
  • Coordinate, document, and communicate enhancements to internal and external functional users.
  • Managing AP cutover task lists for project releases.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in systems design, configuration, testing, and implementations.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience with meeting facilitation.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or economics.
  • Knowledge of accounting fundamentals.
  • Accounts payable and/or general ledger experience.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Experience using Smartsheet or MS Project.
