What you’ll be doing...

At Verizon, we are building a world-class Finance organization. We are executing a comprehensive program to streamline processes, enhance systems, realign the organization and add opportunities for personal skill-building and professional growth. We’re finding new ways to add value and provide strategic support. We want to build leading Finance practices within Verizon, setting the stage to become the place any Finance professional wants to work. You will be a catalyst for change.

You will support the Finance Transformation Office, and will interact with Finance personnel across all lines of business on a regular basis. You will also forge relationships with members of our Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing, Operations and Real Estate teams. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that all Finance activities/services are executed with optimum efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Leads and manages teams to design, develop, implement, and provide continuous improvement and re-engineering of programs, systems, and processes for the Finance organization with a focus on accelerating the adoption of digital tools (RPA, NLG, Visualization, Data Aggregation, etc.)

  • Functions as an internal digital consultant for Finance, partnering with the Finance community to implement digital tools to automate manual processes and enable enhanced insights.

  • Works closely with IT, Legal and Security teams to drive the development and implementation of digital and automation tools.

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for development.

  • Determines potential opportunities for organizational efficiencies through the assessment of procedures and current processes.

  • Translates potential opportunities into initiatives to embed into one of the Finance programs, engaging relevant Stakeholders as appropriate.

  • Creates detailed project plans, monitoring project progress, anticipating and mitigating risk.

  • Presents and communicates to all levels of Stakeholders.

  • Partners with applicable parties to define appropriate workforce strategies to drive performance and help implement programs to effectively support business direction that produces better talent outcomes year over year.

  • Develops KPI metrics reporting, providing optimal levels of monitoring across groups and processes in collaboration with the appropriate Stakeholders and leaders.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with implementation and/or development of digital tools: NLG, RPA, OCR, Chatbots, Visualization, Data Aggregation, etc.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline or four or more years of work experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in Project Management (PMP certification.), Service Delivery and/or Finance Transformation programs.
  • Experience supporting the implementation and/or development of digital tools: NLG, RPA, OCR, Chatbots, Visualization, Data Aggregation, etc.
  • Finance Transformation and/or Management Consulting experience.
  • MBA or similar.
  • Knowledge of Finance process landscape and service delivery governance.
  • Written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across Stakeholders.
  • Experience working with multiple Stakeholders groups to design, deploy, and evaluate transformation and continuous improvement activities in a complex environment.
  • Ability to help leaders determine links between organizational culture, strategic initiatives and talent.
  • Strong stakeholder management and conflict resolution capability.
  • Knowledge of financial systems, accounting systems and principles.
