What you’ll be doing...
This new addition to the Core Network Services Network Planning team will focus on investigating the strategic short term (1 year) and longer term (2-5 years) direction for the eSIM (Embedded Secure Identity Module) infrastructure. Additionally, the role will require system/network/device interaction architecture skill sets to ensure development and implementation of direction is achieved. The incumbent will have established understanding of industry technology trends and customer solutions/requirements.
- eSIM Consumer solution strategic direction setting - Industry trending, converging technologies, future technologies requirement.
- eSIM architecture/implementation solution establishment - partner solutions development working with Product teams.
- Performance system metric establishment - investigate and implement recommendations of KPI’s and methods to measure and analyze.
- Capacity planning- capture Verizon metrics to properly forecast eSIM system solutions expected load and set direction to ensure system accommodates forecast and also establish budget requirements for annual submission.
- Understand the eSIM industry direction and determine if it is in Verizon’s financial best interest to require a second source of vendor for eSIM solutions.
- Work with internal and external partners to develop real-time solutions, make recommendation and see implementation through to completeness; without impacting current customer load on system.
- Make independent architectural decisions, without the concurrence of upper management and provide recommendations to Engineering teams, vendors or product teams.
- Interact with peers and management in other Verizon Planning, Device Technology, Network Security and IT architecture teams, Network/IT Support teams, Network Implementation teams, Legal and GlobalClearance teams, Consumer, Enterprise and Wholesale Product teams, Enterprise partner/customer direct interface, other Mobile Network Operators and Vendors.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Willingness to travel.
- Strong experience in the architecture and design field of Information technology, communication and Network systems/platforms.
Even better if you have:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in EE/Computer Science or any other related field.
- Institutional knowledge of Verizon Provisioning systems. eSIM, eUICC, SIM, Device Management experience.
- Three years of experience in the architecture and design field of Information Technology, Communication, and Network systems/platforms.
- Knowledge and experience with architecture and design of systems and topics including eSIM/eUICC, Subscription Management, SIM, SIMOTA, systems integration, Device Management, Cellular networking (4g/5G, MEC), ITNetworking concepts, Industry specification and standards bodies (e.g. GSMA).
