What you’ll be doing...

The Systems Engineering team provides end-to-end detailed engineering, simulation and analysis of wireless and wireline systems as typically defined by the Industry Forums and Network Planning to assist the Network Engineering teams in the development, deployment and troubleshooting of complex systems.

  • Designing, championing, and collaborating on the architecture, data flow, and module interfaces of an E2E real-time wireless network system level simulation targeted to evaluate network functionality, performance, and robustness over business use cases, operational scenarios, and new/existing features.
  • Working with a cross-functional team to implement requirements.
  • Partnering with internal teams and stack providers to define a flexible architecture.
  • Analyzing flow of wireless data within simulator in order to improve performance.
  • Defining delay budget for various simulator components.
  • Working with development team to define APIs for simulator components.
  • Developing 4G/5G wireless models of varying (low-level to high-level) complexity as needed in order to study network functionality, performance, and robustness over use cases/scenarios as well as to innovate new features.
  • Analyzing simulation results and performance logs in order to troubleshoot issues, develop detailed specifications, optimize system, develop white paper/ recommendations, and innovate features.
  • Developing interface requirements/ specifications for interworking; e.g., Xn, N2, N3, N26.
  • Understanding the latest 3GPP wireless communication standards and systems.
  • Interfacing with industry organizations (vendors, global operators, specification bodies) to compare merits of specifications and whitepapers.
  • Partnering with internal organizations (Maintenance Engineering, System Performance, NDET, Device Technology, NNO, etc.) as needed to accomplish above.
  • Coaching and mentoring more junior level team members.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science.
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry (network provider, MNO / MSO, silicon provider, device OEM, etc.) architecting, simulating, and/or deploying complex wireless communication networks.
  • Strong project management skills to execute on roadmap.
  • The ability to work on a team and independently on multiple high priority projects.
  • Solid understanding in wireless communication theory; e.g., signal processing.
  • Excellent knowledge of LTE, 5GNR.
  • Good understanding of relevant 3GPP, ETSI, and GSMA standards.
  • Excellent communication and advanced presentation skills.
  • Strong designs / analysis skills and problem solving capabilities.
  • Ability to facilitate collaborative resolution of differences with a “win-win” approach.
  • Proven organizational and interpersonal skills, plus proven relationship building abilities.
