What you’ll be doing...

Position is for a Junior Security Engineer.The candidate will have two primary roles: User support and Internal Support.

  • Process trouble tickets from multiple systems and work to resolve user connectivity issues in an expeditious manner.
  • Communicate with clients using Slack, Jabber, email, and other official methods.
  • Adjusting workload in accordance with the number of trouble tickets.
  • Call in additional resources as needed and can reroute tickets to other organizations - should the need arise.
  • Working with various firewall and proxy technologies.
  • Deploy firewall and proxy policy updates, usually after normal business hours, and occasionally on weekends.
  • Work unsupervised and make limited decisions on her/his own. If clarfications are needed, the candidate is encouraged to reach out to assistance to peers, others outside of the organization, and where appropriate web search engines.
  • Attend engineering and desgin call and will need to relay the information to other team members - both orally and in written format.
  • Create presentations and present the content.

Postion will be full time remote.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.

  • One or moreyears of relevant experience with firewalls and proxies or like technologies.

  • Experience with Windows, Macs, and Chromebook PCs.

Even better if you have:

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, since the work involves working with non-technical and technical people.
  • Knowledge of how to build firewall rules using vendor provided tools,and have worked with proxy rules/policies and undrestand the impact of manipulating those policies.

  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, IP tools for diagnosing network issues, and subnet masking.

  • Knowledge of IPv6.
