What you’ll be doing...

We are seeking a Senior Manager with a proven track record delivering turnkey solutions for rapidly evolving technologies like 5G NSA/SA with mmWave and subSix frequencies, LTE, and Cat M for Verizon. This position requires a highly motivated individual with a solid technical background and leadership capabilities. You will report to a Director and will interface extensively with OEMs, development teams, and cross-functional teams within Verizon. You will lead a team of subject matter experts and play a key role in driving strategy and advocating on behalf of Verizon’s interests.

You will be managing onshore and offshore teams responsible for a suite of innovative Device Technology products to automate Verizon Device launch and certification, with a primary focus on innovation, overall strategy, roadmap, and evolution of the products. In this position, you will be leading innovation for Verizon 5G device technologies and will be delivering solutions in cutting-edge technologies. You will manage vendors to define Verizon products and devices for enterprises and consumers.

  • Drive high impact innovative solutions for Device Technology like ACP 5G solution (lab Conformance Certification), and Orbit (a device launch and compliance automation platform).
  • Partner with peers across multiple Verizon organizations to automate and streamline device launch and certification for retail, and IoT devices for increased Verizon revenue and cost savings.
  • Work to develop critical in-house software development expertise for business and be accountable for product roadmaps and deliveries.
  • Effective vendor negotiation and management to get the best possible solution for Verizon.
  • Innovate new solutions to address continuously evolving business needs.
  • Manage development teams through the Agile development process and handle release management, feature requirements, and bug tracking.
  • Technical lead on projects (including feature development) that are critical to device launches

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience in 4G, 5G, Cat-M, and Verizon supported RAN technologies.
  • Knowledge of Verizon Device Compliance and Certification Process.
  • Experience in 3GPP, GSMA, CGF, and other telecommunications standards.
  • Ability to manage project capital and expense budget, and negotiate/manage development contracts with 3rd parties.
  • Executive communication, strong interpersonal skills, and leadership qualities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, take initiative, resolve conflicts, be creative, coordinate, and make decisions.
  • Experience in developing tools, including writing requirements, automating processes, and managing the development process.
