What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is seeking a highly-motivated, flexible, organized, and detail-oriented Proposal Content Writer to develop proposal content. The successful candidate should be equally comfortable working independently and as a member of a team. This position offers an opportunity for long-term internal growth within an established organization. Job Responsibilities include the following:Analyze and interpret customer requirements (i.e., RFPs, RFQs, RFIs) to determine required responses and identify relevant reuse materials.

  • Develop outlines and compliance matrices, which will be used as a key document for compliance and configuration management.
  • Assist proposal teams by gathering relevant information, synthesizing it, and presenting it in a compliant, cohesive, compelling, and easy to understand format.
  • Research, revise, and improve proposal content prepared by proposal stakeholders, including technical , capture managers, and program management staff, for completeness, accuracy, and correctness of language use.
  • Uses interpersonal and interviewing skills to gather needed information from internal subject matter experts and write assigned sections of proposals; coach Subject Matter Experts on high-quality section content.
  • Provide editing support for assigned projects, proof/edit proposal documents, including editing for content, tone, consistency, and competitiveness; coordinate and edit technical input from subject matter experts for grammar and clarity.
  • Track and monitor the flow of all documents from inception to distribution of final copies.
  • Assist with research on a variety of assigned topics to develop writing plans and outlines.
  • Assist in the development of supporting plans, documents, and appendices.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of corporate documents.
  • Write and edit non-technical material such as resumes and corporate experience.
  • Develop and update style guides and other writing/interviewing tools in concert with team members.

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills and in-depth knowledge of English grammar and the principles of composition.
  • Bachelor's degree or five+ years of work experience.
  • Research, writing, and editing skills
  • 5 years’ experience as a collaborative proposal content developer

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, or Communications.
  • A self-starter that can work independently and in a team environment with a proactive service attitude and willingness to take a hands-on approach.
  • Ability to multitask and meet short timelines/deadlines; occasionally work weekends and holidays to meet proposal deadlines.
  • Commitment to performing and producing at the highest level of quality at all times.
  • Ability to display professionalism and provide premier customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to learning and understanding new technologies.
  • Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Flexible to change and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to work well as part of a team with a diverse set of personalities, in a fast paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
  • Experience in analyzing and responding to RFIs/RFPs with strong writing, editing, analytical, and organizational skills
