What you’ll be doing...

As the lead for the Solution Architecture and Delivery Team, you will support all strategy driven by the head of the new sensor business in Verizon’s New Business Incubation unit. You’ll play a key supporting role in scaling the team and preparing the business for the growth. You will report directly to the President of the Sensor Intelligence business unit. You will be supporting the new sensor-based business, product and technical capability inside NBI, which will leverage Verizon’s 5G network and Intelligent Edge Network (Mobile Edge Compute) to power orchestration for the autonomous future indoors and outdoors including support for robotic sensor arrays, fixed and mobile IoT both indoors and outdoors.

  • Solution demonstrations (in person, web, trade show, etc.)
  • Conduct proof-of-concept development and demonstration.
  • Provide opportunity and account planning and management.
  • Support and scale NBI’s Sensor Intelligence team to deliver transformational revenue growth and product leadership.
  • Establish and execute the strategy for NBI’s sensor fusion capabilities and business opportunities across the diverse technology businesses already in place and the new ones to come.
  • Align the diverse sensor ingestion and processing approaches within NBI to execute a unified sensor fusion strategy designed to enable the business strategy
  • Facilitate communication across the department by leading all-hands and sub-department leadership meetings.
  • Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of the product and technology roadmaps to both support new sensor fusion products and services brought directly to market as well as embedded sensor fusion capabilities that will bolster NBI’s existing product groups: Autonomous Mobile Robots, Digital Space Management, Location Services, Drone Flight and Fleet Management, 5G R&D, and Edge Analytics.
  • Create and evolve the technical architecture to enable high-speed, low-cost expansion of NBI’s sensor fusion capability to properly balance the enablement of the long-term business strategy with near-term objectives.
  • Define and execute company security, privacy and ethical standards in partnership with NBI’s General Counsel, Verizon’s Privacy team and CISO organization.
  • Ensure NBI is the best in class when it comes to security standards and data privacy requirements.
  • Develop strategic plans and set timelines for evaluation, development, and deployment of all product & technology decisions and strategy.
  • Ensure the proper performance and financial efficiency of the sensor fusion business at large.
  • Evolve the commercial architecture (partner, channel, direct, compensation plans) to enable high-speed expansion of NBI’s sensor fusion products to properly balance the success of the long-term business strategy with near-term objectives.
  • Define internal alignment with select Verizon teams to ensure a well-rounded go to market plan that utilizes Verizon as a potential channel for sales.
  • Develop strategic plans and set timelines for evaluation, development, and deployment of all commercial decisions and strategy.
  • Ensure the proper performance and financial efficiency of our commercial organization.
  • Review and optimize commercial development processes to ensure consistent and predictable delivery of revenue.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or o four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of experience as a technology-based technical leader
  • Six or more years of software experience in the following technology domains: Video Intelligence Computer Vision, Digital Space Management, geo-spatial, Wireless Network, Industrial IoT or factory automation.
  • Managed performance review cycles and delivery reviews. Managed and mentored both senior team members and non-direct reports
  • Experience managing geo-distributed teams
  • Experience creating a thriving team culture from scratch as measured by engagement, satisfaction, productivity and business outcomes.
  • Experience driving R&D roadmaps based on customer needs
  • Experience in net new business design with deep understanding of how to distill current and future customer needs and map that into organizational design, technical capability and product-market fit.
  • Experience architecting and delivering complex platforms and developing enterprise-level technology roadmaps.

Even better if you have:

  • Proven success with defining security standards for systems and software and meeting data privacy requirements from an ethical and technical standpoint.
  • Designed, Delivered and Supported solutions globally for a wide range of entities including Fortune 500 companies, major government entities and major events
  • Experience at a successful software start-up.
  • Independently managed large areas driving pipeline and revenue growth
  • Experience public speaking
  • Proven ability to brief high “C” level officials and be comfortable in a public speaking setting
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a multi-functional business
  • Deep understanding of underlying sensor components such as data ingestion, camera technology, AI, ML, DL, and big data
  • Experience promoting technology innovation with leaders at large tech companies (i.e., Google, Amazon, Apple, Samsung etc.)
