What you’ll be doing...

You’ll join the Professional Practices Group (PPG) within the Verizon Internal Audit department allowing you to positively impact the way we do business. This group will provide you with the foundation to be a change agent, providing objective evaluations of our internal processes identifying areas of risk as well as operational and technological efficiency. Under the supervision of a Senior Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of ongoing team-wide training. In addition, you will assist in the Internal Audit Quality Assurance & Improvement Program (QAIP) program and other key PPG deliverables:

  • Develop training materials to drive learning and consistency throughout the department.
  • Conduct training sessions for new hires and Advanced Auditors.
  • Develop VIA technical certification program along with learning and development team.
  • Perform QC (Quality Control) reviews of work performed by the Internal audit department to ensure audits are executed in accordance with the IPPF standards, ensuring quality reports with clear findings and sufficient action plans to mitigate risk.
  • Present practical recommendations to audit teams based on QC findings.
  • Assist in prepare executive summary of QC observations for senior leadership to drive accountability and improvements.
  • Assist in the coordination of the Audit Committee presentations ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Assist in PPG ad-hoc projects / requests/ department support.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Advanced degree /Master's degree/ MBA.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective critical thinking skills.
  • Public Accounting experience.
  • Professional Certifications (CPA, CIA, CISA, PMP).
  • Experience in delivering training to a wide audience.
  • Experience in conducting QC reviews.
  • Effective project management skills and ability to work with management at all levels.
  • A good understanding of risk management methodology and internal control factors.
  • Analytics ability to pull data and visualize at an executive level within different formats (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Google Analytics, etc.).
