What you’ll be doing...

The Digital Marketing COE team at Verizon is hiring an SEO Strategist to play a key role in creating comprehensive online marketing strategies in support of corporate communications. In this role, you will actively be contributing to an Omni-channel marketing strategy that involves analysis, reporting, and execution via SEO best practices and innovation. We are looking for a passionate search marketer with extensive background in strategic SEO, technical SEO, and content strategy whois data-driven.You will be actively contributing to Verizon’s digital marketing practice as a subject matter expert in support of Verizon’s corporate website, executing large-scale initiatives and driving architectural evolution for the news center and career sections of Verizon.com. We expect you to come with a strong understanding of the evolution of search and the benefits of thinking about search holistically (SEO, SEM, SERP Features). This is a unique role to work within a dynamic group that is defining the future of digital marketing for a Fortune 15 business.

  • Supporting the SEO team and Corporate Communications with cohesive, compelling SEO strategies that guide the development & content processes.
  • Serving as a trusted consultant, practitioner, and advocate for the SEO discipline.
  • Communicating strategic visions to internal stakeholders and help disperse the strategy to the greater organization.
  • Partnering across business units (Verizon Business Group, Verizon Consumer Group, Corporate Communications, Marketing, IT) to build a holistic search approach that aligns with business objectives and drives sustainable growth for Verizon’s corporate website.
  • Establishing and promoting SEO guidelines, best practices and standards across business units.
  • Monitoring and reporting on SEO traffic to various stakeholders within Corporate Communications.
  • Maintaining expert level understanding of latest industry trends, guidelines, and algorithm changes.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Marketer/agency/consultative services experience in SEO.
  • Knowledge of technical SEO principles, onsite and offsite techniques.
  • Experience communicating the value that SEO, Branding, Content, and IA has on KPIs and business drivers.
  • Experience managing projects across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience analyzing data, monitoring campaigns for improvements, and ensuring campaign goals are being fully met.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of paid, owned, and earned media landscape (PPC, Display, Affiliates, Social, PR, Mobile, Native, etc.) including search engine algorithms and search engine user behavior.
  • Experience in relevant web design principles, UX/CX best practices.
  • Data visualization experience.
  • Knowledge of tech stacks, buying tools, and analytics tools etc.
  • Experience leveraging data as a guide for strategy and decision making.
  • Ability to rapidly build on new businesses and industry verticals.
