What you’ll be doing...

  • Design, implementation, and support of Wi-Fi networks and solutions at Verizon IT locations.
  • Gather business and technical requirements for new or changing WiFi deployments, determining equipment needed, AP placement and connectivity.
  • Present designs to stakeholders and tracking the progress of work.
  • Generate heat maps and updating WiFi management systems.
  • Write MOPs and following change control processes for work related to equipment installation and changes. Perform pre and post change testing and validation.
  • Require the evaluation of WiFi environments for resiliency and quality using the Airwave Management systems and diagnostic information available from the equipment.
  • Work and resolve user trouble reports and managing issues in the trouble ticketing systems.
  • Monitor the environment and recognize issues.
  • Evaluate equipment code and performing system upgrades and maintenance to the installed environment.
  • Use tools such as sniffers, WiFi analyzers, and management systems to evaluate new applications planned for the WiFi environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues effecting WiFi clients.
  • Work with stakeholders to define business requirements and developing solutions to satisfy those requirements.
  • Work closely with IT Security, EUS, Application Developers, and other technology partners. This position will require some off hours work for implementation and support.
  • Document plans and communicate clearly to stakeholders, focused on accomplishing defined goals and adhering to project timelines.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Experience with WIFI technology and HPE/ Aruba Solution.
  • Experience with Aruba Networks AirWave network Management solution, Aruba Networks ClearPass including design of security and authentication processes.
  • College Degree in related area or equivalent experience.
  • Aruba Networks Professional Certification.
  • Experience with large enterprise Wi-Fi environments.
  • Five or more years of experience with WiFi technology and HPE/ Aruba Solutions.
  • Strong command of Demonstrated experience resolving complex issues related to WiFi technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Ability to mentor others, manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, document and present complex solutions to business stakeholders, research and develop solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Highly proficient in technical skills, problem solving and decision making.
