What you’ll be doing...

You will be at the center of the public cloud migration program at Verizon. You will work with multiple application teams to analyze and evaluate their current platforms in order to come up with a migration plan and architecture which makes full use of public cloud capabilities. You will get the opportunity to work with diverse technologies and teams while getting access to a vast inventory of tools and services to help you position Verizon at the cutting edge of cloud technologies.

  • Enabling end-to-end migration of applications from on-premise to cloud.
  • Identifying and share best practices, emerging trends and technologies and promote cloud adoption within the portfolio as well as at the organization level.
  • Enabling to work hands-on with implementation, troubleshooting and optimization of application environments, tools and services.

What we’re looking for...

You have a deep knowledge of the current and upcoming cloud technologies and services. You are able to evaluate, decide and apply solutions and tools to constantly changing scenarios with ease and accuracy. You love being constantly challenged and working with the highest requirements of quality and efficiency.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Four or more years of experience as enterprise cloud engineer, system administrator and/or cloud architect.
  • Two or more years as a self-starter with experience with enterprise level cloud implementations on AWS and Oracle Cloud (Azure and GCP experience)
  • One or more years hands on implementation experience with container technologies and architecture (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of cloud development frameworks, technologies, languages and tools.
  • Cloud architect certifications for AWS, Azure, GCP and Oracle.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Certifications related to services, tools and platforms for infrastructure and CICD management.
  • Demonstrate high skill levels in leadership, communication, training and project management.
  • Strong presentation and reporting skills.
  • Experience working in high performing, results oriented teams with end user focus.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to handle distributed teams and rapidly changing ecosystems.
