What you’ll be doing...

Verizon’s Cloud Engineering & Enablement team is looking for DevOps and Cloud infrastructure Engineers. You will be playing a key role in Supporting and automating the DevOps platform Tools on Cloud along with enabling self-service, innovative solutions and customer support.
Ensuring uptime of the platform for end-users as well as development teams.
Reducing manual workload and automate the support process with out of the box thinking.
Building infrastructure in public cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, etc).
Participating in design review of new infrastructure, and new product/tool development.
Participating in devops tool analysis, creates proof of concept models, and makes recommendations to support the tools selection process.
Generating actionable metrics to measure the performance of the infrastructure tools, frameworks and other systems that support the entire engineering and release.
Developing automation and orchestration playbooks/scripts.
Engaging with vendors on a regular basis to understand product upgrades and new features.
Connecting with external devops user community through meetups and forums to understand the best practices and share common solutions that have paved way for user experience.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or one or more years of experience
  • One or more years of experience in Automation, supporting DevOps tools and exposure in Cloud.
  • Linux operating system - Basic knowledge.
  • Hands-on experience in Devops tools like Jenkins, Gitlab, JIRA, Confluence, etc.
  • Experience preparing reports on all aspects related to the load test, functional test, performance metrics, etc.
  • Experience with a scripting/coding language(s) - Perl, Python, Groovy, Ruby, shell.
  • Experience in CI/CD and workflow automation.
  • Hands-on experience in AWS (Lambda, Ec2, ELB, S3, EFS, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, etc.)

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Understanding Code Quality analysis tools like sonarqube, checkmarx, etc.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex operating environments.
  • Experience in configuration management tool a plus - Puppet, Ansible, Chef.
  • Exposure to SQL, PostGres and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience in containers technology (Docker, rkt, cri-o, etc.).
  • Basic Understanding of NLU / NLP.
  • AWS Certifications.
  • Web Server exposures in Nginx & Tomcat Exp.
