As part of this team, you will play a meaningful role in our network transformation through building a unified network across all lines of business and maintaining the technology that keeps millions of our customers connected.

You will handle a wide variety of responsibilities pertaining to the overall performance processes of Application Service Providers (ASPs), with the goal of providing the highest level of service to our customers. ASPs are external, third party companies that provide data, content, or other services which enable our commercial wireless data offerings. You will be directly responsible for assisting in the planning, automation, design, migration, and turn up of cloud environments for our ASPs, and for ensuring that ASPs of varying size, maturity, and resources adhere to Verizon policies relating to operational, performance and engineering policies. You will also be crafting and disseminating niche reporting on all specific areas such as change management and capacity management.

  • Locating, testing, and onboarding reporting tools across the platform to prioritize, monitor, and report KPIs.
  • Prioritizing and running requests made by external (ASPs) or internal organizations (Marketing, Tech Dev, IT) to improve commercial service offerings, increase capacity, and improve redundancy, from inception to completion while minimizing impact to our customers.
  • Assessing projected impact and potential risk to commercial service based on demand/capacity models.
  • Building timely and accurate written, verbal, and visual reporting (scheduled and ad-hoc) to highlight critical issues and enable efficient strategic management decision-making.
  • Implementing and tracking capacity thresholds and trending for each ASP as defined.
  • Gathering and analyzing performance/usage data and utilizing it to identify any trends.
  • Tracking ASP projects and supporting the following initiatives: capacity, transport, redundancy, upgrades, new services and ad-hoc activities.
  • Maintaining and operating the ASP expense budget.
  • Assisting in the development of standards, design, and migration of ASPs into the Verizon Cloud Platform (VCP).

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field, computer science, information technology, or another related field.
  • Red Hat System Administrator, OpenStack, or VMWare certifications.
  • A+, MCSE, CCNA, or related certifications.
  • Coursework and/or hands-on experience with computer science, networking, telecommunications, programming and scripting.
  • Experience with a cloud based environment from either an engineering, implementation or operations perspective.
  • Five or more years of experience in wireless telecommunications and data networking.
  • Three or more years of experience with fundamental packet data concepts such as TCP/IP and UDP, routing, basic LAN/WAN network connectivity, firewall, or DNS.
  • Two or more years of experience in remote technical support.
  • Two or more years of experience in project management, account management, and relationship management.
  • One or more years of experience in a cloud based environment and programming/scripting.
  • Willingness to travel.
