What you’ll be doing...

Verizon’s Senior CSIRT Consultant will act as a regional lead and will be in charge of one or more in-region customers. You will liaise with our customers and the offshore CSIRT operations team, ensuring the good relationship between all different key stakeholders. He/She will work with their peers in other regions and the management to develop the business in region and globally.

As an expert in the field of security incident response, you will be the most senior analyst in the CSIRT team and in charge of the implementation of the service for new accounts and the last on the escalation path during the delivery of the service.

The CSIRT Lead responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Establishing CSIRT services to new accounts.
  • Contributing to containment decisions of critical incidents and facilitatingdecision making by other parties using established escalation process.
  • Coordinating forensics and law enforcement activities with officials if necessary.
  • Verifying the effectiveness of CSIRT work and building remediation/improvement plans when necessary.
  • SPOC in case of CSIRT escalations.
  • Following and keeping good relationship to other services within Verizon.

Being in charge of a region, the Senior CSIRT Consultant will also:

  • Follow the status of each account in his/her region.
  • Ensure there are resources available for each account.
  • Ensure the communication and information exchange is fluent between accounts and regions.
  • Ensure expectations of customers are met in his/her region.
  • Accountable for arranging collaboration calls once a month.

As a Subject Matter Expert supporting the rest of the team, you will also meet regularly with your peers to discuss and provide guidance for the improvement of the current CSIRT program (e.g., escalations, methodologies, quality mgt).

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field or relevant work experience.
  • CSIRT Team experience.
  • Experience in security operations, risk management, operational management, and/or consultant management.
  • Network and Web Application vulnerability assessments.

Even better if you have:

  • SIEM (SPLUNK) and log analytics skills.
  • SANS or other Security certifications, such as GCIA, GCIH, GREM, GPEN, CEH.
  • CISSP Certification and / or CISM certification.
  • ITIL Foundations training / certification.
  • Knowledge of ISO 27001 requirements.
  • Significant experience in Security Operation Centre (SOC) processes.
  • Experience of how to structure and operate an efficient Incident Response process.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with customers at both technical and executive levels.
  • Clear and concise written and oral English, including the ability to product professional-level documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and security analytics skills; able to identify gaps in processes and recommend improvements for mitigation.
  • Strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to customer issues.
