What you’ll be doing...

You will support the Payroll processing activities related to specialized Compliance Tax Audits that impact an employee’s paycheck and W-2. You will review of the results of the audits and ensure the correct actions are taken to rectify. You will work closely with the compliance team to build, streamline, and enhance future audits.

You will also be the primary support for all internal testing of systems, upgrades, and enhancements as they are developed in the due course of business activities, interacting on a regular basis with internal HR, IT, Benefits, Finance, Audit, Legal, and Labor Relations.

  • Support PeopleSoft Tax Update Testing.
  • Interact within the Payroll Support and Controls teams to discuss defects and enhancements to existing system processes.
  • Work with the Payroll reporting team on special ad-hoc queries needed to assist in completing review of Compliance audit results that deviate from the expected outcome.
  • Complete true-up calculations and work with Tax Supervisor on communications required for employee repayments.
  • Support all customer service channel activities and key contacts to ensure regular updates are maintained as they relate to true-up payments or reciprocity.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Payroll Tax/Multi-state.
  • Experience with system testing tax changes.
  • Experience in Customer Service and HRMS/Payroll Processing system applications.
  • Experience working on Year End W-2 Preparation Experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Knowledge of the end-to-end Payroll functional processes as well as how the Payroll functional processes integrate with the overall end-to-end Payroll Tax processes.
  • Experience with HCM systems, i.e. PeopleSoft, Workday.
  • Experience working with Excel.
  • Knowledge of the various state tax rules for calculating true-up payments.
  • Experience with 3rd party tax applications, ie: paycheck city.
  • Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously.
  • Good organizational, time management and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills (both verbal and written).
  • Strong sense of urgency, proactive approach, and a solid focus on results.
  • Willingness for flexible scheduling to meet processing demands.
  • CPP or FPC certification.
