What you’ll be doing...

The Director of Strategic Growth will lead a team that oversees Verizon’s strategy and value-based relationships with sourcing advisor organizations globally in support of the organization’s growth objectives. Verizon’s advisor community includes both industry advisors and consultants, as well as Master Agents and sub-agents. This organization is responsible fordeveloping significant pipeline through partnerships with the advisor community, and working closelywith Verizon’s sales and account teams, as well as the GIS team, across the globe. The Advisor Relations team will leverage strategic partners and market advisors to help accelerate the funnel and serve as a primary driver for growth across the Verizon Business Group (VBG) to deliver in a marketplace that is already highly competitive and increasingly disrupted.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and managing industry sourcing advisor relationships globally where advisors have a presence aligned to Verizon’s strategy.
  • Driving the creation of large-deal pipeline through sourcing advisor relationships and channels.
  • Working with advisor groups to position Verizon to support creating large-deal collaboration and revenue-generating opportunities.
  • Aligning advisor relations activities with Verizon’s analyst relations and Marketing teams, including account-based Marketing (ABM) and sales enablement programs, to leverage the advisor channel to support improving awareness in the channel and large-deal invitation rates.
  • Overseeing Verizon’s strategy for informing and influencing the advisor channel to drive awareness and differentiation in the market while gaining outside-in perspective to support business strategy and outcomes.
  • Engaging sourcing advisors during deal pursuits and renewals to support Verizon with coaching and insight to improve pursuit effectiveness and win rates.
  • Driving unified messaging and thought leadership across the advisor community globally.
  • Developing and articulating a vision and present results/opportunities to internal and advisor leadership groups.
  • Recommending process improvements to enhance and streamline acquisition procedures and drive growth.
  • Serving as a liaison between master agents and the company to identify and resolve issues.
  • Managing the advisor relationships to support overall understanding of the services Verizon provides and the benefits for their clients.
  • Creating a strategy to deepen relationships with agents to expand their network, reach, and utilization of Verizon products with their customers.

What we’re looking for...

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years’ experience running a global advisor and/or influencer relations function for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 service provider
  • Strong communication skills with marketing experience
  • Demonstrable experience creating differentiated strategies to engage advisors and leverage the advisor channel to support business outcomes
  • Highly developed interpersonal and client-facing skills experience in leading or advising with advisory firms
  • Proven track record of increasing deal flow and new opportunities through advisor relationships; relationships across advisors
  • Experience supporting a team influencing and creating $1B+ of advisor-led deals annually
  • Knowledge of the advisor and influencer relationship market, their strengths, and effective forms of engagement
  • Ability to create go-to-market opportunities with advisor firms in coordination with Marketing
  • Experience coaching senior leadership and experts on external advisor engagement
  • Strong existing relationships with the advisor channel and ability to create a position of advantage for Verizon
  • Strong executive management and leadership skills, with a proven track record in managing large and geographically distributed teams
  • Commercial acumen to build business cases, communication planning, and navigate barriers
  • A good understanding of:
    • Digital transformation methods and best practices
    • Outsourcing and advisory legal terms
