What you’ll be doing...

The VCG-GTS VCG-GTS Planning and Technology organization is looking for a Senior Agile Coach who will be a core team member of the Agile CoE with helping build out the vision and strategy of agile transformation for VXG-GTS. The Agile Coach will need to interface across multiple LOBs for Verizon Consumer and Business groups including Marketing, Experience, Digital, Service, Sales, etc. in addition to other GTS leaders and groups. This role will be an advocate for Agile mindsets, behaviors and processes, the Agile Coach is responsible for helping teams perform by instilling an Agile mindset and methodology through coaching, improving team processes and championing continuous improvement. The Agile Coach has a deep understanding of the organization and team processes and adds value with a broader perspective of having seen other teams go through the same transition before.

  • Champion continuous improvement of Agile events and practices.
  • Actively facilitate team events leveraging digital and distributed team best practices to ensure full team engagement.
  • Foster close cooperation across all team members.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration inside and outside the team.
  • Shield the team from external interference.
  • Represent the team’s perspective at the Scrum of Scrum.
  • Identify trade-offs to drive shared Vision.
  • Track progress and achievement of the team’s OKRs and KPIs.
  • Support the Product Owner in all agile events.
  • Actively address impediments so that the team can remain focused.
  • Set up, drive events and track value for coaching Community of Practice.
  • Identify the needs for other CoPs (DevOps etc.) and establish process to set up such CoPs.
  • Foster self-organization and growth within the team.
  • Generate agile mindset in staff and teams.
  • Build a trusting and safe environment.
  • Facilitate events, roadshows, Open Mic sessions as needed to drive awareness on transformation journey.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to improve overall communications for the Agile transformation.
  • Gather feedback from launches and provide updates to use agile as a source of continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Agile experience, including experience as Agile practitioner, Agile Coach.
  • Willingness to travel 25%.
  • Experience in coaching multiple Agile teams.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A Master's degree.
  • Agile certification (PMI-ACP/SAFe).
  • Experience in product based agile methodologies.
  • Experience establishing and driving coaching Community of Practice.
  • Willingness to work flexible and/or extended hours and can stakeholders in various time zones after hours.
