What you’ll be doing...

The Senior Manager – PS (Engagement Executives and Program Delivery) will focus on three primary areas. The roles purview will include both Pre-Sales business support, Post-Sales Executive Engagement (Program) Delivery and Executive Coordinator engagement management. You will be a thought leader in delivery functions and will lead a team of highly technical and experienced Engineers focused on delivering professional services within the VES/PS services portfolio. This individual will provide management oversight, lead role and service alignment creation efforts within assigned portfolio, and deliver subject-matter-expert level guidance to Sales teams engage with our largest business accounts. The Sr. Manager must understand how to identify business drivers and requirements and be comfortable engaging in strategic discussions with internal and external customers at the executive/C-suite level. You provide global (multi-enterprise) product and service delivery support by collaborating with direct reports, applicable Verizon product teams, Service delivery teams and Verizon support organizations and technology partners to influence technical direction, contribute to product roadmaps, assist in resolving product technical delivery issues and closing technical delivery gaps from presales through delivery. The Senior Manager – PS works with PS peers as well as Product, Sales and external Technology Partners on continual process improvements to accelerate sales and delivery to meet Verizon contracted commitments. You must also ensure highly effective and mutually-rewarding customer relationships, and effectively communicate project and/or issue status to Verizon key stakeholders as well as customer management and executive levels. The Sr. Manager PS must be an action oriented, results driven performer with a history of achievement operating in a fast-paced environment.

  • Provide management and oversight of the Executive Engagement (Program) and Engagement Coordinator practice areas.
  • Lead a highly technical team of Intelligent Network Program Delivery and Coordinators responsible for all tasks of PS engagement delivery related to the delivery of Intelligent Network solutions.
  • Translate customer requirements into an executable Statement of Work, leveraging Third-Party vendors, contractors, as well as internal resources.
  • Provide technical leadership in design, execution and delivery of product agnostic professional service engagements.
  • Identifies opportunities for process efficiencies and leads effort to design and deliver automated solutions and delivery methods to reduce or eliminate manual methods.
  • Develops standardized service offerings, based on well-defined assumptions and clearly articulated deliverables, in order to maximize value obtained from presales scoping resources and scale the business.
  • Work independently and be accountable for project or program results.
  • Develop methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Lead transformational projects that are interconnected to other parts of the business.

    What we’re looking for...

    You’ll need to have:

    • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
    • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
    • Program and Project Delivery.
    • Complex Delivery methods and procedures.
    • Experience in a leadership role in a technical consulting or technical delivery environment.
    • Experience with all aspects of Intelligent Network delivery including solution design, installation and configuration for large-scale, complex environments.
    • Willingness to travel up to 50%.

    Even better if you have:

    • PMI PMP certification.
    • Ten or more years of Professional Services project delivery leadership.
    • Two or more years of Professional Services program delivery leadership.
    • Proven experience and ability to engage clients and manage relationships at the C-Level.
    • Leadership ability with excellent communications and team building skills across multiple work locations.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to effectively participate and lead discussions and present material at manager and executive levels, and to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Strong technical acumen to understand and solve complex network and application layer challenges both from a design and problem management perspective.
    • Advanced knowledge of business processes (e.g. ITIL, Project Management) and the impact thereof on the technical environment.
