What you’ll be doing...

The Verizon CX Team is a new internal group tasked with evolving the Verizon customer experience across all channels and touchpoints through the design and implementation of innovative products and services that customers love. Working from Verizon India Design studio space, the team is assembling the brightest designers, UI Engineers, design strategists, researchers, and product managers to collaborate within teams shaping the future of the customer experience.

  • Collaborate and work closely with a team to develop reusable UI components, own complete development lifecycle (design, implement, test, deploy, maintain and upgrade) related to Design System.
  • Provide leadership in all areas of the development process, including Frontend development standards and practices, UI architecture and design, functional and technical design, and implementation.
  • Drive technology initiatives & Thought Leadership. Provide technical leadership across all UI technologies.
  • Design and Architect Fronted UI projects using latest UI frameworks and libraries.
  • Deliver best-in-class front end UI solutions grounded in user, product, tech, and business requirements through collaboration with partners.
  • Provide technical advice and direction regarding technical feasibility and implementation of the UI.
  • Implement engineering excellence by enforcing regular code reviews, continuous integration, high test code coverage, on-going code refactoring, documentation and focus on performance, security and scalability.
  • Be responsible for architecting and leading the implementation of the front end based on industry best practices and product standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand technical requirements as well as performance, quality and security concerns.
  • Provide effort/capacity estimation, scope, and structure projects of varying degrees of complexity.
  • Oversee the delivery and execution process, ensuring and facilitating effective team communication and collaboration.
  • Build and maintain the front-end layer for workforce and consumer facing projects.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of Design System and Code Release Management.
  • Knowledge of development best practices, architectural concepts and relevant design patterns.
  • Strong Knowledge of Software Architecture, Micro Fronted, Responsive design, SPA and Design Patterns. Knowledge on front-end technologies such as: React Js, Redux, React Native, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES5, ES6), Object Oriented JavaScript, Webpack, Ajax, SCSS, Styled Component, HTML5, CSS3.
  • Hands-on experience in writing Unit Tests using Jest.
  • Proven track record of technical competence, writing resilient code, and maintainable software.
  • Experience with Server side technologies such as Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, AWS etc.
  • Experience in developing user interfaces of large scale websites using latest UI frameworks and libraries.
  • Experience in leading a team of 4+ UI Engineers. Strong knowledge of performance, web accessibility, release cycle management, CI/CD pipeline and SDLC Process.
  • Effective technical leadership skills, proven experience in handling multiple projects concurrently, meeting deadlines, effectively managing priorities and relationships with various stakeholders independently.
  • Strong analytical skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical terms and problem solving skills.
  • Operating Systems: PC and Mac experience.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring team members to educate and build the capacity to operate in an agile manner.
  • Experience with Agile, Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration environments.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Eight or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Two or more years of experience in the telecom domain that spans directly related to website/web application front end development.
  • Low/No code experience and knowledge of Mobile Platforms such Android, iOS with a good sense of UX design.
  • Cloud Computing experience like Amazon Web Services
