We have an immediate need for a Database Administrator to facilitate the delivery of our award-winning Consumer products. The DBA is responsible for administering databases and maintaining critical communications between our Operations, Development and Application support teams. This role offers strong personal and professional growth opportunities to the right person and the ability to have a meaningful impact on one of the largest SaaS businesses in the world.

  • Administer Oracle/Cassandra/MySQL and other databases as assigned.
  • Develop and enhance dashboards to quickly troubleshoot and prevent unexpected results.
  • Manage storage capacity of the database systems including backups and restoration processes.
  • Design the automation of creation, configuration, and delivery of high availability Database systems.
  • Deliver actionable database designs, standards, and patterns in collaboration with various subject matter experts.
  • Lead Database design understanding and delivery in cooperation with Project Managers and other key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the creation of strategies and technology roadmaps while involving all key stakeholders.
  • Recommend and influence new and database infrastructure best practices and processes including but not limited to zero downtime deployments.
  • Conduct proof-of-concept projects to adopt new technologies.
  • Plan, coordinate, and administer database systems – support and enhance operational guidelines, data protection, and structures.
  • Proactively engage in enterprise capacity planning and performance management.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Four or more years of experience in a DBA role supporting Oracle/Cassandra/MySQL.
  • Four or more years of experience with database design and architecture.
  • Four or more years of experience in Monitoring databases with Enterprise Manager 12c, OpsCenter, Cloud watch, Grafana and other monitoring tools.
  • Four or more years of DBA experience and able to demonstrate strong applied knowledge with Oracle RAC.
  • Three or more years of experience with AWS DB technologies like RDS Oracle and Aurora.
  • Knowledge of design principles and components for scalable/elastic, secure, reliable, and resilient computing services on a global scale.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • AWS Solution Architect Certification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, proven presentation skills to all levels of audience including technologists, management and executives.
  • Datastax Cassandra Certification.
  • Oracle Database Administrator Certification.
  • Knowledge and experience in complex technical architectures in real-time and highly available environments.
  • Experience in migrating databases from On-prem to AWS cloud.
  • Experience in DB upgrades and Migrations across Oracle, Cassandra, Aurora MySQL with various DB & LINUX versions.
  • Applied knowledge with one or more of the following python/shell/perl/Ansible.
  • Ability to Collaborate and Engage well with others to solve problems and actively incorporate input from various sources.
