The successful candidate will be working within our Data Products team, in a hands-on capacity and in immediate contact with Data Engineers, Analysts and Scientists working on our cloud based data platform. Emphasis of the role will be on continuous delivery and “total automation” of big data solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with a cross-functional team of Data engineers, Data scientists, Operations and business stakeholders to ensure smooth deployments of software and database updates.
  • Proactively work with the team to improve the process of building and deploying big data and ETL solutions across all test and production environments.
  • Develop and maintain reusable automation scripts and components with variety of build and deployment automation tools, including but not limited to: git implementations (e.g. Bitbucket), build runners (e.g. Bamboo or Jenkins), deployment automation (e.g. Octopus, Ansible) and AWS IaC (infrastructure as a code) scripts.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
  • Experience as a DevOps or DataOps Engineer.
  • Experience of working in an Agile development environment.
  • Scripting and automation skills.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills, especially PowerShell.
  • Experience with any of the following build and deployment automation platforms: Bamboo, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, AWS Cloud formation, AWS Code Deploy.
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
  • Experience in using Git and Gitflow (branching model).
  • Knowledge on Infrastructure as Code approach.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or IT related subject.
  • Successful experience of working with large enterprise scale solutions.
  • Working experience of Python or any other common language (preferred C#).
  • Experience of working with Redshift, Kinesis, S3, Glue, Airflow, API gateway.
  • Experience with Docker or other container orchestration tools.
  • Experience automating database deployments, database versioning and source control.
  • Familiar with Unix/Linux and Windows environments.
  • Practical knowledge of TCP/IP, VPC, VLAN, Network Orchestration.
