What you’ll be doing...

The Senior Manager of Project Management for the Artificial Intelligence and Data Organization (AI&D) will be responsible for managing a team of project managers assigned to supporting transformational and other special projects focused on Data Engineering and AI Industrialization. These programs and projects are designed to improve business performance, drive operational KPIs, implement new sales and operations programs, and optimize the way we support customers, both internally and externally. You will work directly with key stakeholders, including functional leaders at the highest levels within the AI&D organization, to ensure your team successfully coordinates the execution of high priority that will enhance business operational strategy. You will collaborate with global teams to deliver strategic data enablement programs end to end for Verizon Customer segment.

  • Maintain end-to-end ownership of multiple complex strategic initiatives/projects simultaneously and organize/prioritize them to meet the needs of the Segments and deliver a customer centric experience.
  • Define a strategic approach to organizing and managing detailed project planners to track progress of key stakeholders and drive accountability to stipulated deliverables and deadlines.
  • Host engaging and collaborative core team calls in accordance to project timelines/schedules and drive participant engagement to gain commitment, drive decision making, and complete deliverables that advance projects forward until completion.
  • Hold cross-organization and cross-BU teams accountable to delivery timelines and update executive leadership on a weekly basis to ensure the proper prioritization is given to key initiatives.
  • Create effective communication and collaboration vehicles to maintain consistent contact within cross-functional groups as well as teams impacted by ongoing projects and prioritize work based on the overall objectives of Data, ML and Platform Engineering teams.
  • Serve as upstream influence for AI&D wide program improvements to achieve greatest benefits/efficiencies in ways of working across teams.
  • Driving projects in Agile, Waterfall and Rapid delivery execution along with associated tracking over JIRA, Clarity, Shibumi, Anaplan, EazyBI, etc. Project management platforms.
  • Managing Demand, Financials (Cap./Exp.), Budgeting, etc. for Program/Project.
  • Responsible for driving portfolio reports, trackers, tools, dashboards, etc. automations.
  • Drive innovation culture in the team.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience designing and delivering new strategies, operational processes, and the customer experience.
  • Good communication, presentation, problem solving skills.
  • CSM, SAFe, PMP or relevant Agile, Project Management, etc. certifications.
  • Good oral and written communication skills along with ability to create visual presentations of new ideas/status.
  • Knowledge of SDLC, Agile, Waterfall, etc. delivery models.
  • Team development planning, coaching and mentoring.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Managed projects with PMI or MSP methodologies.
  • Good Technical knowledge around Big Data Engineering based development.
  • Verbal and written communication and report presentation skills to Director and above level executives.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail.
  • Presentation, verbal, written communication skills, including the ability to create presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint and Google Slides, and experience presenting to all levels of an organization.
  • Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills, the ability to conduct outside/inside research, analyze data, and use Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets effectively to develop models and drive analyses.
  • Experience or certification in Lean Six Sigma.
