What you’ll be doing...

We seek an experienced, customer-centric Contract Manager to join our team to draft proposals and contracts within the Legal Department in support of a rapidly growing, new Industrial IoT and Auto Telematics business-to-business segment. The position supports a high growth and strategic focus area of our business involving use of wireless and related services to connect cars, robotics and a wide range of other IoT customer devices to support cutting-edge use cases.

  • Project manage, and assist with implementation of on-going business and legal initiatives to grow market share in this segment such as development of SLAs, new and revised service templates, and supporting process flows.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Sales, Legal, Offer Development and Finance teams, and provide training and guidance to Sales on contract and RFx process flows, and how to use internal systems like LPM and Apttus to initiate, approve, and track customer requests and contract documentation.
  • Liaise with our wireline teams on deals that include international service components.
  • Liaise with counterparts in VZ Wireless and VZ Connect Sales, Finance, Operations, Product and with other subject matter experts (e.g., regulatory, tax) to ensure proper approvals are obtained to support contract positions.
  • Draft and revise wide variety of standard and custom contracts with enterprise customers, including telematics service agreements and amendments, non-disclosure agreements, statements of work and ancillary legal documents.
  • Enhance Qvidian – the RFx database – to include repeatable custom responses for auto telematics deals and newer IIoT use cases for wireless services.
  • Navigate through various internal systems to ensure that contract documents are properly generated and recorded, turned around in a timely manner, and appropriately distributed to impacted organizations.
  • Participate in select customer-facing negotiations and otherwise assist Verizon counsel involved in the broader customer-facing negotiations.
  • Interface with sales clients regarding legal and business matters arising from Verizon service agreements, consulting with counsel as necessary.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with clients, legal colleagues and other internal stakeholders, and ensure that the clients’ legal needs are satisfied.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Master’s Certificate in Contract Management, Paralegal degree, or JD.
  • Understanding of legal terminology and ability to apply principles of contracting to drafting within parameters set by the Legal Department.
  • Strong team player with demonstrated ability to work with multiple internal groups to quickly achieve common goals.
  • Ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels and exercise sound decision-making.
  • Attention to detail, with accurate input and proofreading skills.
  • Business acumen and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with limited supervision in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent experience helpful.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, MS Office, Word)
  • Familiarity with G-Suite.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications, technology industry or outsourcing arrangements preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours to complete assigned matters under deadline.
