An exciting growth opportunity to join the 5G Disruption team as a Sr. DevOps Engineer responsible for supporting experimentation in Cloud, Edge, and On-Prem deployments. The candidate shall be responsible for supporting application deployments & automation pipelines, enabling business and technical teams doing rapid prototyping and experimentation, actively improving our infrastructure and monitoring capabilities and direct support for issues in our environment. This opportunity is on a team that is highly visible and plays a major role in advancing Verizon’s technology future. We’re looking for developers who are passionate about DevOps, cloud infrastructure, operations, automation, and building industry leading products and excited to learn, experiment, and build new capabilities that enable innovative teams to create new capabilities that help enable new growth for Verizon.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Four or more years of experience in a DevOps environment.

****This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager. ****
Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Master's degree.
  • Eight or more years of experience in a DevOps environment.
  • Experience working in environments such as OpenShift, AWS, Azure, and others.
  • Experience upgrading, configuring, and maintaining private server or edge compute systems as part of a holistic network infrastructure architecture.
  • Experience supporting teams engaged in rapid prototyping and experimentation.
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Terraform, Terragrunt, Helm.
  • Experience with building and deploying automation using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI.
  • Experience with containers and orchestration tools like Docker or Kubernetes and ECS.
  • Experience with managing relational databases like PostgreSQL in a non-RDS cloud environment.
  • Experience with server storage systems, such as CEPF, GLUSTER, RH Open Data Foundation.
  • Basic scripting ability with Bash or other languages like Python or Ruby.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and skills quickly.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative Agile team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to embrace change and work in a fast paced, iterative environment.
