What we are looking to achieve?

Verizon’s Supply Chain organisation is building a best-in-class, Global Strategic Sourcing Centre of Excellence based in Dublin.

We wish to attract the brightest and biggest-thinking minds in the international strategic sourcing industry, to create, build and run a team that sets the benchmark across the globe, whilst driving outstanding shareholder value for Verizon. As a Senior Sourcing Manager, you will be lead a team of sourcing professionals who control and manage one of the largest annual technology spends in the world.

Is this the challenge you are looking for?

  • Manage, coach and motivate a high performing, globally focused team responsible for the strategic sourcing of Verizon’s core Technology products and services.
  • Leads various Cross Functional Teams (CFTs) to determine the business and technical requirements for large spend categories.
  • Provide direction and leadership to their individual team of Sourcing Specialists in support of business initiatives that provide operational efficiencies to Verizon and optimize the customer experience.
  • Provide insights and direction in the implementation of sourcing solutions that drive Verizon shareholder value and optimize the customer experience.
  • Manage external supplier relationships to deliver optimum value for Verizon; collaborate with key internal business partners to assess their needs and work with them on key initiatives to ensure alignment between the business and the sourcing team on deadlines and strategic factors.
  • Define, integrate and drive large scale cost savings initiatives across the team in order to drive results across the entire footprint.
  • Responsible for workload balancing of Sourcing Request and/or other Sourcing requirements from internal Business Stakeholders in order to ensure that support matches the needs of the business
  • Stay current with industry trends and ensures that their team is current on individual Product & Service Stream trends for their assigned category area. Acts as a Trusted Advisor to Key Business Partners.

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
  • Credentials from Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), International Association for Contract & Commercial Management (IACCM) or Irish Institute of Purchasing & Materials Management (IIPMM).
  • Experience in Strategic Sourcing, ideally in the technology areas such as Network Equipment and Infrastructure, Software Licensing, Call Center Services, Cloud, Contracted Labour, etc.
  • Experience leading and managing a team.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Quantity Surveying (relative to telecom), or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to solve complex problems to ensure business and financial issues result in sound decisions.
  • Project Management in complex multi-project and multi-geography environment.
  • Prior experience as a telecommunications installer and / or engineer.
  • PMP or Prince 2 experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and client service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications (including PowerPoint, Excel and Word) – MS Access a plus.
