What you’ll be doing...

We are connecting businesses with their field teams and their fleet of cars in our cutting-edge Verizon Connect group—improving efficiency and enhancing service levels for our business customers. You’ll be managing strategic analysis with a focus on capital planning and financial analysis that will ultimately drive the strategic direction of the Connect Business. You’ll bring together strategic analysis of our competitors across geographic regions to inform strategic decision making. Verizon Connect is looking for a capital allocation strategic planner to join our Business Operations organization. Primary purpose of the capital allocation strategic planner is to support the Sr. Manager with strategic analysis. The capital allocation strategic planner will understand the operational objectives and corporate strategy and align them with the capital allocation priorities.
The capital allocation strategic planner will own the Capital Allocation analysis that would drive strategic decision making. They will monitor the performance with respect to strategies, investments and initiatives versus original projections. They will understand the parameters of, and assumptions underlying, the annual and medium term (1-5 year) operating and capital plans and budgets. Support the Sr. Manager on the strategy development process.
The role is expected to support the business in developing dynamic product portfolio internally & externally calibrated along with structured hypotheses to deliver strategic recommendations and track the progress of identified objectives.

This is a hybrid position, the expectations are that you will be going into an office once a week. This position can work out of any of the main verizon office.

  • Create planning and management processes that generate a granular view of product and market opportunities.
  • Create independent, fact-based anchors, including deriving targets from market growth and market share data or leveraging benchmarking analysis of competitors.
  • Responsible for the executive presentations that communicate the plan to key stakeholders.
  • Analyze benchmarks to figure out how the company must perform as compared to peers’ performance and analyze the three- to five-year plan against it.
  • Work cross-functionally to facilitate the refinement of Verizon Connect's strategy through a disciplined and best-in-class process to drive backcast alignment from the North Star vision into capital allocation plans.
  • Create and deliver accurate, high-quality, thoughtfully designed reports and analyses to address operational and strategic questions
  • Provide forward-looking insights and propose recommendations
  • Participate in scenario planning and the annual planning process

You are comfortable with multiple aspects of a business, including product, operations, and strategy. You need to have financial acumen and modelling experience. You can paint a high resolution picture about what we want to accomplish over the coming years, and can shape the plan that gets us there.
You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Managed large complex projects involving multiple work streams and stakeholders.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis experience.
  • Experience in analysis of business plans.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of strategic frameworks and good research skills.
  • Ability to assimilate a broad range of data, analyzing, and distinctly packaging the information to a variety of audiences, including executive management.
  • Ability to understand the corporate business strategies and apply to the business.
  • Strategic thinking and vision.
  • Excellent relationship building skills that result in a strong network.
  • Ability to advance ideas through different levels in the organization.
  • Ability to work effectively across operating units effectively influencing others.
