What you’ll be doing...

The Head of Customer Acquisition & Growth Strategy will be responsible for owning the direct to consumer strategy and content curation for the Entertainment Hub, a new business venture for Verizon that will operate as a digital storefront for Verizon customers and serve as a single destination from which they can discover, purchase, and manage third party streaming services.

The Director will oversee the development and execution of the marketing strategy related to third party OTT content partner offers for the storefront across the Verizon base (5G Home, Fios, and Wireless). This position will sit within the Verizon Consumer Group (VCG) Growth & Revenue Organization and report to the Head of Content Strategy & Business Development.

This will be both an internal and external facing role, working closely and creatively to bridge the needs of external partners with internal priorities. Externally, these partners will span across several categories, including video, audio, gaming, sports, e-sports, and other lifestyle products and services, while internally partnering with teams in Product, Marketing, Sales, Advertising, Omni CX, Technology, Customer Service, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee external OTT content partner relationships, providing partner-facing leadership support across the Marketing, Programming & Editorial team
  • Establish a best-in-class Programming and Editorial partner management team that will manage the day-to-day relationship responsibilities across content partners and support the awareness of content partner services, as well as any offers and promotions
  • Partner closely with the relevant internal teams to develop and deliver on the marketing support that will meet both Verizon and Content Partner objectives
  • Collaborate with large cross-functional teams to find solutions that satisfy both partner and business objectives, while understanding existing capabilities and constraints
  • Operate with a sense of urgency both internally and externally, creating timely opportunities driven by content partner demand or other external factors (partner content trends, news, events, etc.)
  • Manage and develop a team of resources that will drive best practices for partner success including, but not limited to, QBR’s, Status Calls, Reporting and Analysis, Partner satisfaction, and overall partner support
  • Discover, create, and champion new ideas with our content partners that will drive new subscription acquisition and other Verizon KPI’s
  • Own the management, development, and execution of the marketing strategy to acquire new customers for the Entertainment Hub and grow revenue per customer driven by third party OTT content partner offers and promotions
  • Develop, own, and manage 12-24 month calendar of offers and promotions
  • Discover, create and champion new ideas (e.g. offers, promotions, bundles, Verizon tie-in’s, etc.) with our content partners that will drive new subscription acquisition, return purchasing, and other Verizon KPI’s
  • Establish and lead a best in class team responsible for driving the creation and execution of partner promotions with the goal of driving traffic, conversion, and sales
  • Be a key thought partner and core collaborator with internal groups focused on acquisition and base marketing for Verizon’s core connectivity businesses on opportunities to leverage the Hub to drive their KPIs
  • Collaborate with large cross-functional teams to find solutions that satisfy both partner and business objectives, while understanding existing capabilities and constraints
  • Interface with external partners to pitch planned offers / promotions and secure participation, as well as support negotiation of economic terms related to offers

What we’re looking for...

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience leading programmatic content optimization, as well as strong managerial skills
  • Experience working with OTT content partners
  • Experience in Direct Marketing and/or Partnership Marketing of digital products and services across channels
  • Demonstrated performance in a matrixed, consensus-based organization where successful collaboration and communication are required at all levels
  • History in creating a positive, growth-oriented team culture, where individual contributors thrive, and continuously improve their skills
  • People leadership and development skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
