What you’ll be doing...

VCG Billing organization is in the middle of an ambitious multi-year program to modernize its Billing Platform from VISION Mainframe to an Open Systems platform. In the process of this program, the organization is creating a center of excellence consisting of team members having Telecom Billing domain knowledge along with experience with open system billing systems like Amdocs, Netcracker, and technology skills in C/C++, Java, Python, Linux/Unix, Cassandra and AWS. The system scope is complex due to high volume of data, text and voice usage and large bill cycles to bill our customers (e.g. Rating 4B usage records in 6 hours, involving large customers with 2-3 million lines). The SLAs for Rating and Billing such large customers in a timely manner with daily bill cycles. The Billing platform is a key element for Consumer, B2B and enterprise customers as Verizon is looking forward to 5G Currencies and monetization.

  • Lead the Billing development and support functions like Bill Calculation, Tax Engine, Profile Management, and Billing Interfaces to downstream and upstream interfaces.
  • Interact and guide development resources spread across multiple physical locations (onshore and offshore).
  • Partner with the business stakeholders like Revenue Assurance, revenue accounting, tax team etc. to validate the financial booking and bills to 99.99% accuracy.
  • Design solutions based on trade-offs in cost, performance, reliability and security, and be able to partner with the Network, business and other IT teams.
  • Drive the development to enable 5G roll out and market launches.
  • Drive the development to support wireless growth business products/plans launches.
  • Exercise deep understanding of the Verizon Wireless Billing, Rating, Booking and its product structure along with deep knowledge on complex algorithms in End of Cycle processing.
  • Establish OKR and KPI and drive the team/project using KPI.
  • Provide industry research and leadership to drive best practices in SDLC, DevOps, CI/CD.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with multiple SDLC methodologies, standards, procedures and organization that contribute to the development and deployment of technology solutions.
  • Experience in UNIX, C, C++, Java and Python. Oracle, PL/SQL, and stored procs.
  • Experience in DevOps and CI/CD methodologies and tools like Jira, Jenkins, Gitlab etc. RBM, AWS, Cassandra, Apache SPARK, Kafka, and Ignite, establishing and driving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Experience in both Mainframe and open system billing systems like Amdocs, Netcracker. Experience working on 5G, IOT, 4G products, Knowledge of programming, system development, security practices, and open source implementation.
  • Experience in Billing, Rating, Payments, Journalization, Booking, Taxation, Collections, Product Catalog, Pricing and bill format.
  • Knowledge of E2E Wireless architecture and flows for ordering, billing and downstream financial interfaces and various customer touchpoints.
  • Experience driving projects E2E for all aspects requirement analysis, development, testing, and implementation.

  • A Master’s degree.
  • Experience driving the definition and execution of the next generation cloud ready billing platform.
  • Ability to manage high volume bill processing (2M+ Customer Bill /day) and design solutions to scale up for the future growth of IOT & 5G.
  • Ability to manage 140M Verizon wireless subscribers data to ensure 99.99 percent billing accuracy
  • Builds strong relationships with partners, stakeholders and leaders within our group to ensure alignment and buy-in on the requirements and prioritization of product ideas.
  • Ability to manage mission critical / customer impacting online interfaces that are very critical for events such as Apple iconic launch (74M txns), and ensure 24/7 availability & serve front ends within defined SLAs.
  • Design efficient solutions (both from cist & performance) to enable massive IOT subscriber growth (For instance, one of the current client has 3.4M lines).
  • Ability to design solutions based on trade-offs in cost, performance, reliability and security, and be able to partner with the Network, business and other IT teams.
  • Knowledge of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures.
  • Manage multiple competing projects/programs simultaneously.
  • Ability to seamlessly interact with executives, senior business leaders and their project teams.
  • Strong presentation skills to all levels of management; ability to communicate complex concepts in a manner that is understood by the audience.
  • Experience with open-source tools and technologies to replace or integrate with existing systems and architecture that drives and delivers business benefits / superior customer experience.
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive – a team leader who can lead both strategic and tactical initiatives.
  • Experience in project management including waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Strong written/verbal communication and analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and management skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and process-oriented approach.
