What you’ll be doing...

We have an immediate need for an Agile Delivery Lead to facilitate the delivery of our award-winning Fleet Management product Reveal and assist in our transformation to an agile / lean software team.

As an Agile Delivery Lead you will report to the Tribe Lead and will be working intimately with teams to ensure the thorough planning and efficient execution of every iteration. You will be responsible for ensuring your Agile team embraces Agile business execution and development practices throughout the product lifecycle including planning, execution, launch. This role also requires Agile coaching of teams, individuals, and leaders, including Delivery Managers and Product Owners.

The Agile Delivery Lead is the key person for ensuring the flow of work along our value stream. They will ensure effective collaboration across all of the actors involved in delivering initiatives; senior management, product management, UX, engineering, development operations and architecture.

Working within the Lean / Kanban methodology employed in Verizon Connect the successful candidate will identify opportunities for continuous improvement and champion them across the organization.

They will work alongside other TPMs within the organization and will have specific responsibilities for two or more Clans, each of which typically consists of two to three cross functional teams. The TPM will work closely with the Engineering Managers responsible for the Clans to which they are aligned.

We're looking for an outstanding candidate who knows how to work with teams of product managers and highly skilled subject matter experts in a fast moving Agile environment. The Agile Delivery Lead will support delivery teams, and be responsible for leading Agile transformation at a team/program/portfolio level.
Responsibilities include:

  • Expert Agile practitioner with the ability to manage multiple and concurrent work streams with a focus on guiding teams toward improving the way they work; Facilitating iteration planning, retrospective and demos.
  • Removing all obstacles for project team efficiency and effectiveness; reaching out to the larger organizational network for impediment removal; ensuring cross-team coordination.
  • Identify, track and mitigate risks and issues identified throughout the delivery of initiatives.
  • Keep senior management and key stakeholders informed of project status and escalating issues when they impact timeline, scope, quality or budget
  • Contribute to the functional excellence of project management by participation in the development and continuous improvement of processes, procedures, and tools related to program and portfolio management practices.
  • Maintaining relevant metrics that help the team see how they are doing. (e.g., burndown, burnup, cumulative flow, velocity, etc.)
  • Coaching and mentoring other subject matter experts, partnering to ensure that our ways of working are consistent across teams.
  • Acting as an Agile Delivery Lead, taking responsibility for managing product releases and dependencies between teams and third parties or between assigned teams and other delivery teams.
  • Support development of product roadmaps strengthening the presence of the team as an agile center of excellence. Actively contributing to the organization Agile Community.
  • Use Agile & Lean methodologies to provide flight level visibility, setup and track progress and provide informed insight into projected completion dates for initiatives.
  • Experience in driving Agile maturity models.
  • Expertise with tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Represent at the Product Owner Sync meeting to report impediments for escalation.
  • Facilitate or participate in daily Stand-up, Planning, Retrospective, Grooming & Review/Demo.
  • Facilitate impediment resolution in a timely, cost effective manner

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Four or more years of strong project management experience (ideally with relevant qualifications)
  • Knowledge and experience in Agile/Lean development methodologies and managing complex projects in an Agile environment, with experience in different SDLC methodologies.
  • Experience facilitating project team meetings, cross-functional communication and decision making, and ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders
  • Creative ideas to solve complex problems, both technical and procedural.

Even better if you have:

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically when planning, managing teams and processes.
  • Skillful use of interpersonal skills and influence to accomplish work without formal authority and to ensure optimal team performance
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, which enable successful collaboration with executive level stakeholders
  • Sound judgment, problem solving, and collaboration in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to problems
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional or horizontally aligned teams
  • Demonstrated a strong Agile and Lean methodology mindset
