What you’ll be doing...

  • Monitoring, tracing, profiling and diagnosing distributed software services, databases and transactions on the cloud with inert ability to quickly grasp and logically resolve complex technical issues.
  • Working on analyzing and depicting patterns and trends from data collected from multiple sources.
  • Implementing and using Cloud based Monitoring, Data Collection, Logging, Visualization, Tracing, Dependency and Code Profiling tools like the following (but not limited to) AWS monitoring, Build/Deploy application insights, Prometheus, Grafana, NewRelic, Dynatrace, Catchpoint etc.
  • Defining meaningful and achievable Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Collaborating within a team environment and with cross-functional peers to support Crestron initiatives.
  • Providing support for Monitoring / DevOps driven solutions for cloud and on premise environments, troubleshoot issues with applications and middleware components
  • Taking learnings from the field and take ownership of making sure the improvements/fixes/learnings make it back into the product and to documentation
  • Working on Ansible-based product installers and automation scripts or good understanding of devops stack
  • Architect and implement increasingly better HA, DR, and backup solutions
  • Working on Linux, networking concepts
  • Monitoring the performance of the platform and infrastructure

What we’re looking for...

The ideal candidate is self-driven, data-driven, and can work in a distributed team. This professional holds strong knowledge of Cloudops and DevOps methodologies related to Delivery solutions & Platform Automation. In this role you will be part of the Site Reliability team, sharing your experience in the field with our Delivery, Support, Product Engineering, and Infrastructure teams. You will simultaneously focus on technical excellence and quickly delivering value to customers who have deployed our software in production. The person who fills this role is a subject matter expert who excels in collaboration, open communication, and reaching across functional borders
You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Two or more years of experience in SRE practice.
  • Four or more years of working support experience with Tomcat or other Java servlet containers.
  • Experience administering and tuning web servers (Nginx), application servers, and databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Experience in Bash or Scripting.
  • Experience with Application Support, Middleware like Kafka, MQ and Backend like SQL/NoSQL.
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud services - EC2, ASG, LB, KMS, S3, Route53.
  • Knowledge of Ansible CM, or similar config management.
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD tools (Jenkins/Sonar/Nexus).

Even better if you have:

  • Thorough understanding of ELK stack; Prometheus/Grafana/Graphite.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in fast-paced and highly collaborative environment both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Practical knowledge of Hashicorp Vault.
  • Understanding of Java/.Net development.
