What you’ll be doing...

We have an immediate need for a Hardware Research Engineer to join our Data Products team. You will be responsible for the in-house research, development and QA of strategic data products. You will analyze signals collected by our Internet of Things platform, including GPS Trackers and Dashcams, and customize and configure the devices to create innovative applications.
This is a hybrid position and the expectation is that you would be in office once a week.

  • Gain deep knowledge about connected vehicles to develop, configure and troubleshoot applications targeted for tracking devices (GPS trackers, dashboard cameras).
  • Propose innovative ways to extract information from connected vehicles and design experiments to assess their effectiveness on the field.
  • Support other teams (data scientists and HW engineers) on selected projects with QA, training or ad-hoc analysis.
  • Collect, analyze, cleanse, and verify data from our fleets of connected vehicles.
  • Envision new, customer-focused applications based on data from connected vehicles.
  • Keep up-to-date with latest technology trends and contribute to key innovation initiatives.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Science or relevant work experience.
  • Relevant work experience which has involvedHardware research.
  • Experience in C, C++ or Python programming.
  • Hands-on experience in programming and troubleshooting embedded and/or mobile devices, with a preference for Dashcams, GPS Trackers and Engine Control Unit (ECU) data loggers.
  • Experience of data analysis and data visualisation.
  • Experience of working with Unix/Linux environments.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Results oriented approach, with a demonstrated track record of successful delivery.
  • Excellent problem-solving and algorithmic design skills.
  • Experience in applying statistical analysis to validate business hypotheses from experiments.
  • Experience of working with Machine Learning and Computer Vision algorithms.
